Fast paced
With management really not knowing much about what's going on on the actual production floor, lots of miscommunication & lack of acknowledgement for ones skills & work ethic

Great company with great mission and terrible middle management
Tesla is an amazing company, changing the world for the better. The pay and benefits are great. Unfortunately, the horrible middle management makes it a very difficult place to work. This high tech company still has managers that do things the old way. For example, they stand over you with a stop watch to make sure you're working, instead of looking at the amount of work you are actually doing. Elon Musk once said that the problem with corporate America was that too often MBA's swoop in, believing they know more than the people actually doing the work, and make practices and procedures that don't make sense. Even with that acknowledgement, this is exactly the problem working at Tesla.
ProsGreat mission, great CEO
ConsHorrible, micro-managing middle management

Not worth it
Tesla does not believe in the customer or follow its own mission. It seeks people who are tech and environment driven and managed by people that come from the auto industry and their values are the complete opposite. My advice is to walk into a location and ask employees if they are happy, you will be surprised to hear honest feedback.

Good job if you have a family
The benefits that Tesla provides are very good and not much out of pocket. You have to make sure you show up on time and you will be fine. I feel its a good place for someone with zero experience and can grow.

No work life balance/ Decent pay
Although I have a 12 hour shift, reality is 14 hour work days plus emails at home. Unable to take days off due to coverage. Pay does compensate for hours worked.

Very good full medical coverage. Decent career advancement opportunities available.
In addition to affordable health/medical coverage, there are job opportunities to advance ones career, with good performance and attendance being critical. Performance bonuses, either as cash or in equity/stocks, is awarded for good job performances during each review cycle.

Great place
Great culture, amazing benefits, great people, safety first, amazing products and people to with and along. I worked there for 8 years and want to go back.

hard labor with difficulties
I discovered that they promote leads and supers based on their ability to spy backstab and brown-nose their way up.
I kept moving on the same level because of the changeability of the company and upper-level staff leaving or changing positions.
Although the benefits are great the work we do and the stress we go through is very hard on body and mind. They keep pushing people to go beyond the safe work levels and beyond medical restrictions.
Proscoffee tea and cereal free in break room.
