So long ago. Does not exist.
This was nearly 20 years ago and the job no longer exists. If you want I can make stuff up about the people I worked with and for. But most are either retired or dead...

It's a job in this difficult time
A typical day at work consists of answering incoming calls about unemployment insurance claims. The work is good and bad. The bad is that I get sworn at my callers who haven't yet received benefits and it's been months since they've gotten paid. I try to keep a positive attitude but it starts to wear on you. The good. I get to work from home and the dress code is very casual. I could work in my pajamas and no one would know.
ProsWork from Home
ConsGet sworn at my unemployment claimant customers

Terrible Supervisors and no sense of purpose
I would never work for the State Government again. They hire hot garbage as supervisors and are not pro veterans. The co-workers were shady and not helpful.

Very beneficial to be employed by the State of Michigan
It was very rewarding to assist my client's with their needs during challenging moments in their lives. However, there were times when it was discouraging for me when my client's were found ineligible for assistance when they were trying very hard to improve their situations.
ProsGreat benefits
ConsExtreme caseload/high stress level

Great place to work if you have a passion for helping people.
State of Michigan is a great place to work. Some positions and environments are for everyone. The benefits are great. However, they need to stop making college degree's an requirement for the Department of Human Services (FiA) and focus on if the candidate have a passion for people, especially the less fortunate or people who have fallen on hard times. Degree's have nothing do with the environment. Only people with love and compassion in their heart for all people.
ProsGreat Benefits
