I enjoyed my experience working with Talent Table staff. they are professional and courteous. the rate of pay was good. unfortunately, there was not enough assignments given to due to lack of work in Chicago.
Great, flexible way to gain experience working with pets, on your schedule
I have worked for Rover as an independent contractor for several years now, and quite enjoy it. I have had the opportunity to work with pets with such a wide variety of breeds, ages, medical needs and ability. I have had the opportunity to become confident caring for, walking, handling and grooming dogs and cats, and have looked after juvenile/young pets, adult pets and senior pets. This job has given me the flexibility to work on my own schedule, and was very accommodating to my busy life while I was a student. As an independent contractor, there is little to no oversight, and you drive the experience. Your success is completely dependent on the effort you put into the job. Unfortunately, sometimes there are very slow times for working, and no shifts are coming in, therefore no income comes in. Other times, it is easy to become overbooked and be very busy. This job has lots of peaks and valleys, and the amount of available work fluctuates. The company is available to provide support, by phone, but there is no opportunity for feedback or managerial oversight/support. Essentially, you’re on your own at this job, unless there is an emergency, and then you have to work with someone over the phone who may be completely unable to help, or can only provide suggestions. This job is a wonderful way to supplement your income, but it is not reliable enough of work for most sitters to rely on this as their primary source of income.
You are your own boss! Work as much or as little as you want. You can accept jobs or not. You get your own training and become certified that helps you to increase your rates!

High devotion to mission; sharp people.
The culture perpetuated the mission to make it possible for all people to own dogs if they want to. The team was sharp and experienced at scaling a start-up.
Rover is a great platform to advance your dog-walking career and independent business. They care very much about the safety of their sitters, as well as helping them expand their business. Rover.com is clean and easy to use, and is a very trustworthy company.
A typical day at work was about 7 hours long with a lunch break. I learned many things about dentistry and healthcare including how instruments are cleaned as well as tooth and mouth care. The hardest part of my job was making sure that everything was cleaned thoroughly and in the manner that they were supposed to be cleaned.
Rover.com Review on experience as a contractor and dog sitter
Working with Rover was highly varied from a day to day basis. The work itself was customized to each client.
My skill in meeting new clients and coming to understand their needs in reference to frequency of communication, special care instructions and resolution of possible issues according to the profile of their dog was always in process verbally or in writing. My listening skills and attention to daily communication with clients on the status of their dog was critical in a typical day at work.
Extensive multitasking with email, phone and photographs of the dogs in my care was a key reason I was able to generate many new clients and retain existing clients. At the same time I had to perform the actions and work of caring for multiple dogs at one time.
Rover.com gave me the opportunity to earn as much as I was capable of producing. The support staff to the contractors was available 24/7 to assist with computer related issues, contractor website and issues related to the care and safety of each dog.
ProsClients were very appreciative of the service I provided
Best job if you love caring for pets! Flexible Schedule!
I have been a dog boarder, house sitter, dog walker for Rover since Sept 2018. I live in an area where the demand is high for boarding and house sitting. I also provide 24/7 care at clients homes, in advance. Thus far, I make about 1000-1200 per month.
I only board 3 dogs now, so I could increase my income if I board more dogs. I may increase the amount of dogs I accept in the future.
I can accept requests or decline them. You show up higher in search results the more you accept requests. You also show up higher in search results if you are available on holidays and you update your availability every day. You can set your rates yourself.
I charge 38 per night for dog boarding, 50 for house sitting and 100 per day for 24/7 care. Rover takes 20% of your earnings for advertising and support, Rover guarantee and insurance.
As I grow my client base, I will make more income. In the area where I live, you can easily work full time just boarding dogs, doing dog walking, dog daycare.
Dog boarders make the highest earnings.
I have enjoyed working with Rover and plan on continuing with them.
A good bio on your account is what makes all the difference in securing clients.
It is competitive, you have to answer your requests asap so that you can be chosen if a client has sent more than one request. Sometimes you may go to a clients home to meet them for house sitting and they will end up choosing another sitter.
You have to keep track of your mileage and ex

This is a response for individuals looking to get hired at Rover HQ. Really look over the core values on the company website.
Rover lives and breathes these values. Each person you interview with will be assigned at least one core value to assess you on. You will not only be judged at how proficiently you can complete the job, but you will be assessed on how you will fit in the culture at Rover.

Do you get paid alot if so how much?
Asked Oct 14, 2016
You set your own rate. However..... the BIG caveat is that rover takes 20% and then you can’t forget that you have to pay income tax on this money too. So a ‘competitive’ rate means you could end up barely making minimum wage in some states! This is especially the case for overnight stays where it’s a flat rate covers all of the walks, playtime, and attention the pet needs.

You might get paid substantially if Rover didn't take such a big cut. Out of what it looks like you will get paid, Rocer takes 10% from you and 10% from the dog owner. I get the insurance and their "service" with this algorithm that assists you as a contractor but note, it appears to be built to simply make THEM money in the grand scheme. What you end up doing is worth way more than what you get paid for. Hopefully your bookers tip you well and are knowledgeable of these details. Good luck!
