The work environment and people are very helpful and work together. There is a great work/home balance they offer. I learned a lot of skills from working at Rockwell, and the experience has been great. Management could be better.
I truly liked working at Rockwell Automation, as with many places the people are the true value of the organization. They excelled at recruiting some of the best and brightest, at providing training opportunities, and providing one of the best work-life balance environments I've encountered in the Milwaukee market. There is much to value with RA!
Sadly, their "leadership" lacks the foresight and wisdom to capitalize on the truly amazing human assets they have at their disposal. The IT senior "leadership" team cannot figure out how to provide the direction and charismatic leadership required to work with the business units, which would give the Information Technology teams the direction needed to deliver the truly outstanding results being expected from the rest of the company. The IT department is a hard working group, all ready to lean in and work hard to deliver results. I made a parenthetical reference to leadership because the senior level execs have no idea how to truly lead; they follow the demands from other business units, they micromanage teams in regards to hours and budgets, and they are not engaged with the staff to listen and learn and simply cannot provide meaningful feedback to their subordinates. There is minimal vision and minimal understanding of how to create worthwhile goals that last more than a year at a time.
I would definitely welcome an opportunity to work at Rockwell Automation again, but I absolutely would not want to work in the IT de

Lovely internal culture, very old school advancement
There was lots of autonomy in my job and I had internal champions and mentors, however it was steeped in 'old boy's club' politics and wasn't able to give me advancement. They had great pay and benefits, however the glass ceiling was thick. There is a really a lovely social culture internally if you know how to get along in a large environment.
When you speak on racism and unfairness with management, apparently they find a reason to get rid of you which I am grateful they did since I am employed with a company of true culture inclusiveness and literally cares for their employees, ukuleles being treated like a number. The executives at RA could care less about the employees as long as they collect millions. Sad!

love this place
I enjoy working for Rockwell most of the time. but im in office that has no a/c or hvac so at this point with it being summer im ready to relocate, nice easy job though.
There are a lot of people who have been around for a long time.
Retention in my work area has been good and recently the company has lowered the time it takes to get more vacation. New employees start off with 3 weeks.
Promoting from within the company has been difficult and the pay raises are limited with the promotions.
Could make more at the same position coming in off the street.
ProsVacation time
ConsA lot of changes in the upper management over the last couple of years.
Rockwell Automation was my most favorite place to work mostly because of the people I worked with. Well educated and easy to work with. The positions I held there were a good fit for my experience. The culture at Rockwell was the best of all jobs I had. Great people, good compensation and benefits, good environment over all.
Great company to work for, you will be made to feel welcome from day one and always reminded that your work is important. You will be offered the opportunity to progress within the company should you desire.
I had the pleasure of spending almost 4 years of my working life within the family-feel company of Rockwell Automation Re-manufacturing facility in Bletchley, Buckinghamshire.

Very good place to work
I enjoyed work for this company and given the chance I would like to go back, I was on contract and was laid off. I enjoyed work with my co-workers and I like the afternoon shift that I worked. I like doing the assembly work and the evening went very quickly.
