Run!! Get out of there!!
Management make up vicious lies about you, all management pally up. The management will do everything in their power to break you down and make you believe you are worthless. They do not pay correctly, every month this is an issue. There is no appreciation towards staff members for the help and support they give. You will have no life, your family don’t matter, just priory. The minute you raise any issues to the manager you are seen as a problematic person and this is when all the vicious lies and bullying starts. This place will ruin your mental health. If you want a career in care, please do not apply for this company, it will ruin you and put you off care. Management are a bunch of bullies who allow neglect to happen within the work place, all they care about is money, not their residents nor support workers. They have no duty of care, as long as they’re getting paid you are expected to get on with things no matter how bad the situation is. This is a corrupt company & they are part of a sick & horrible click. They let staff abuse service users, when you report it, nothing gets done about it, but YOU are then pulled into the office and made to feel like you’ve done something wrong. Please do not apply for this company. It will ruin you. RUN A MILE & DONT EVER LOOK BACK!!!

Average company
Lack of support from management. Short staffing numbers. Lack of communication and consistency. The staff hired have a big lack of experience for the job. Little to no training before going into the job.
ProsFree meals
ConsLack of support. Un paid breaks that you don't always get.

Mentally draining
no support to develop your knowledge and skills. more institutional than home like groups of staff constantly leaving to smoke outside. no breaks. expected to do more than higher up staff who sit doing nothing. lack of communication, sometimes it took days for emails to be responded to. more training for new staff, even when current staff arent trained in that area yet. no support for part time workers, only support the advnacement of full time staff. no regard to health issues, given guidance and nothing from there. quit to save my own mental health!
Prosthe young people

stressful and full on work place which encourages burnout
The company is definitely viewed as a business first, care second, putting profits first instead of their patients. Agency staffing was incredibly high, which was bad for morale and meant you didn't ever have regular nursing staff. The pay is very bad for the difficulty and skill level required to do the job. A typical day would start out okay, but no two days were the same. If you enjoy a challenge this is a good job and you can take your own initiative.
Prosfree lunch, good colleagues
Conslate breaks, low pay

Dont ask for progress, they will let you go.
I worked for Priory Group for 2 weeks shy of 2 years. I worked hard and strived to do the best I could. 2 out of 3 of my last 1to1's were rated "exceeding expectations", I received a nomination for a pride award (internal annual group awards) for being supportive, and also received a superstar award recently for striving for excellence due to a management guide I produced. Despite all of this, today I was let go because recently I have been asking for development opportunities. At Priory Group, they claim to have a career pathways program exactly for this kind of thing, so that people who work, hard and are loyal are able to move forward and grow within the business....at least that's what we are told. I asked for development as part of a PDR in January. I raised in my mid year review that not much has happened with my request. I then applied for an internal promotion which I was declined for due to lack of experience in this area. I dont mind not getting the job, but asked to revisit the area of development as I had included this in my PDR and now felt it was holding me back. As a result I was today let go, apparently because I want to progress. During the discussions I had with my line manager, she advised me that the career pathways program was a lie to try and get people to join the business and that businesses lie. She later apologised saying she should not have said this to me, unfortunately for me I had already been disheartened by what had been said. I was told th

Management are not concerned with staff safety or welfare. Management do not listen to concerns raised by staff. Career progression does not exist here.

Poor company
Working for priory group the company is not good, you’re just another number to them. the residents are only see ££ signs to them. I was working at one of priory homes for about 2 years , worked through lockdown when it first come about. Them when lockdown ease up in August as a thank for everything the staff did, they closed the home down and made us redundant. The home was closed less than 2 months later. Every member of staff at that home felt like a fool having come together through the pandemic and work hard for the residents to be laid off like that was like a slap in the face. With no thanks to show for it . The management skills of all departments at priory group are very poor as well. So many more things I can say about priory group but I don’t think I have enough space to write it on. (The staff at the home i worked at was like any other family some you love some you don’t but at the end of the day we are one big happy dysfunctional family.)
ProsWill make some friends for life
