Growth opportunities while having fun
My manager Irshad is so caring. When he hired me on he explained the growth opportunities, that I’m working up to. I’m still a cashier, but in training to be a lead and more. He checks in and ask how my family is doing. Genuine care. It’s fun here, we have fun theme dress up days, celebrates everyone’s birthday...huge perk is the free meal I get each day I work from the Tack Bell or Subway, as they are apart of the company. It’s a family vibe at Pilot travel center. I’m more than just a employee number. I appreciate Irshad taking a chance on me and showing how great this company is
ProsFree meal, 2 weeks vacation after 1 year, advancement opportunities, paid weekly, holiday pay, sick time
Cons24 hour operation

family enviroment
from the time i started at PFJ 1/2013 i enjoyed working there. i enjoyed my department and meeting people from different areas. the upper management are very nice and helpful. there is always something going on for the staff. lunch is catered in daily from different vendors. the hardest part of my job, came after my boss retired. our department statred to fall apart. but we as a whole tried to work together. new people came in and it went from a professional work envirmoent to high schooll.

Great staff/great guest.
A typical day would last around 12 hours. My drive time was another 1.5 hours each way. during my 10 years with PFJ. I learned what type of leader and how to lead a team. Turnover was the one thing i disliked the most. ave per unit was around 150% My units generally was around 100-110% The most enjoyable part of the job was working with a team of 40 employees and having an average daily guest count of 7000 per day.
Prosfast paste and great guest service
Cons15 hours a day

Not a good company to work for. There is room for advancement only if you are willing to not have a life. Management doesn't treat employees equally. Raises are not worthy of your performance. I have been there seven years. and was only allowed a .40 raise and I have four job titles.

Drama
Constant drama. you often feel underappreciated no matter what your position was. your just a body that they need so they dont have to come in. the over work you for things you really didn't sign up for. no one wants night shift so once you get it your stuck even if you have seniority.
Prosfree lunch
Consoverworked drama favoritism

good job to work for
A day at work starts with a list.I learned how to deal and talk to costermers.managing showers and bathrooms were clean.my co-workers were funny and very willing to show how it works at a truck stop.the hardest part of this was the cleaning bathrooms when theres people waiting to use them. the best thing about this job was getting tips.
