The money that was paid to the employees was fair.
Working at PM was a challenge @ the beginning. Once secure in my job became easy. But in my case I became extremely ill & almost lost my life behind it while working for PM. Where I had Acute Pancreatitis, renal failure, dialysis, sudo cyst infection, stomach aneurysm, on life support all while in ICU. When this happened to me over the course in a year. Got denied long term disability while out that year to protect me from loosing my job. So my Dr. released me to return to work right before my year was up & I worked 8 days then got admitted back into the hospital on my 9th day where I stayed in the hospital 6 more days. Because I didn't work 10 days PM terminated me & I was let go of my duties there. True..... They aren't obligated to keep me employed. But all that I encountered while fighting to live & not having my job which is a multi-billion dollar company to be there like I've been for my years of working. Shows why I feel negative about this company.
PMI used to be one of the best companies to work for (great environment and culture, great benefits, work was demanding but there was much better balance and motivation, there were lots of opportunities to develop). However since the last 2 years this have dramatically changed for the bad. They are undergoing quite an ambitious transformation with high speed but unrealistic timeline. There is a strong and constant pressure to deliver results and find efficiencies no matter the cost. Several of my colleagues in Finance and other departments complaint about being overwhelmed with work and unhappy with their job, and we are talking about very good professionals who generally are engaged, high performers and have lots of drive.
To work in Finance is to sign up for secure burn out in the near future.
ProsBenefits, job vacancies, you can develop skills
ConsWork-life balance, employee satisfaction, micromanaging, too much time on calls than doing the actual job.
* A typical day at work: a lot of pending daily tasks, a couple of 1/2h non scheduled meetings, and a 2 or 3 completed assignments.
* I learned to work as a teamwork with many different culture people, to manage conflicts and hard situations (means to get two stakeholders with different points of view agreed), to gain an attitude of self-confident, to be proactive when unknown tasks (to find a solution), to lead with emotional intelligence (keep calm when a conflict shows up).
* Workplace culture: people from different countries and orientations.
* The hardest part of the job: to lead with the change of the company's general strategic and sometimes communication between head of functions and subordinates fails (is confused to understand where the organization is moving to).
* The most ejoyable part of the job: The flexibility of working hours and time off (as I need to).

I enjoyed the people I worked with
I have to say you never knew what your days was going to be like because your day was always different. It could change as soon as you walked through the door. It could go from problem solving, account issues, meetings, orders not right, head quarter changing due dates, computers not working, equipment problems, etc... but the one thing I could say I loved my job it was challenging and fulfilling.
Your learning something new everyday as well as multitasking which was something you learned how to do real quick with this job it also made the job rewarding when you were able to meet several deadlines for many different levels.
Retailer were hard at times to understand but you worked with them and do the best you could to help. Great people to work with and fun to be around. I have no complaints about anyone I worked with. If the office didn't close I would still be working there.
Going to work at Phillip Morris was enjoyable, the teams that I was responsible for were some of the best people I've worked with.
Get to work 30mins early to prepare production schedule for teams. Morning meeting with the whole of primary to discuss day's production, what we can do better, safety concerns and general housekeeping. Out on the floor with the teams, operating relevant production lines, relieving for breaks, keeping management up-dated on current status of adherence to schedule or possible interruptions that will cause downtime, co-ordinating relevant departments to insure continuous flow of production. Attend projects, safety, scheduling meetings and any training and development if scheduled for the day. Last but the most important, pitch in with the teams for production clean and prepare for the following shift.
ProsTop health care for the family, good career development
Fast-paced, handling of confidential information, working with upper management
This position involved acquiring and coordinating the installation and maintenance of telecommunications equipment for upper management. The analysis and processing of bills in addition to participating in negotiations and recommendations of vendors was also part of this position. Concentration, multi-tasking, and working well under pressure were qualities that developed while working at this company. This was a critical department; co-workers worked closely to ensure the complete satisfaction of upper management. The most challenging part of the job was anticipating the needs of upper management. The most enjoyable part of this position was handling confidential information and working with various levels of management.
Even though I was working part time, I enjoyed providing administrative duties to the sales team. Because of my organizational skills and work ethics, I worked with not a lot of supervision. I had the ambition and the drive to work hard and well.
I provided sales support by creating and distributing promotional letters to the sales team, documenting the promotional success via the accounting system Philip Morris used and tracked the sales representatives' progress files using Excel spreadsheet.
Furthermore, I processed accounts payable and kept inventory of office supplies and ordered them when needed.
ProsI worked well with the sales team.
ConsIt was only a part time job and sales office closed after being there six months.

Top employer - high skilled people, demanding but helpfull
I was working in Human Resources with young professionals from over 35 different countries. Only people with a degree and at least 2 foreign languages but clear processes, support from the very beginning, helpful staff and team leaders, speak out politics not only in theory but for real, very transparent - regarding all positions, decisions and problem solving. You will never have a bad day there because of somebody's bad mood. Everyone around you ready to help and to support you ! And even the Vice President from our department was always there and ready to listen and very aware of our daily work problems.
Check with previous stocker to see what change overs that may occur and set stock to put on machines.
I start work by checking in with previous stocker for any change- over of cigarette brands. go check my machines to see how much stock they need. Get all the stock ready for my floors and do any change- over's if needed. My co-workers were my second family we seen more of each other than we seen of our own families. Management team was really great. The hardest part of my job was getting laid-off. The most enjoyable part about my job was the family atmosphere. I learned that working as a team is really important.

Tough and Challenging yet Fulfilling Days in Workplace
It was 2010 back then when I joined PMI. The culture was totally different from my previous job but was loving it right away. I was given then assignments which I just did it for the first time, it was really hard but thankfully I was able to make it. The project and assignments were really tough but because I have great and fun-loving colleagues, working here became enjoyable.
Well, I believe I am so lucky to be part of the Internal Controls team for my managers are very competitive yet kind and understanding. Me, my colleagues and my managers shared a lot of common denominators in work. All of us love to sing. If we are so stressed and pressured already, we opt to go karaoke to de-stressed ourselves which really became so effective to us.
Making reviews and reporting the findings noted during the course of the review is really challenging especially that BPO's are quite resistant about it. It takes a lot of patience and professionalism in order for my reviews to attain its objectives. However, hardest part of my job is when I was threatened because I was able to uncover fraudulent activities but had remained firm regarding the issues. Thankfully, my manager is supporting me all the way. Giving me all moral supports for me to keep going with my job.
My learning's in PMI is quite handful. That's why I am feeling grateful with our company for I was able to explore and discovered that I am capable to do more and excel in the field I have chose. Maybe, not every achie

Fast-moving, empowering, transforming and very caring
Phillip Morris Ltd (PML) is a fabulous place to work, especially at the moment. It's a business with tough targets to meet on its journey from cigarettes to Reduced-Risk Products. Everything is changing, and I mean everything so it's a very dynamic environment and a lot of hard work comes with it. However, PML is also a very caring company with a very close eye on Mental Health & Wellbeing. There's a flexible start time, until 10.00 am, every floor has a kitchen with a comprehensive fruit basket each morning and the range of coffees and drinks, at no charge, is great.
It's a hot-desking culture on the PMO floor and a mixture on others. This reflects the Project-Based direction of the business. So, it's impossible to predict how your day will be; that all depends on what your role is, but it will be busy and the time just flies.
There are great facilities and meeting rooms, new training and presentation suite and a very open culture between the leadership team and colleagues. Once a month there's a 90 minute Town Hall with live anonymous online Q&A session where you can ask anything and it will be answered. Twice a year there are all-company events which are really popular. 2019 saw the first Learning At Work Week at PML with a very wide programme of experiences and September was devoted to a comprehensive MH&Wellbeing campaign in all aspects of life.
It's a great place to work and I haven't even mentioned the Table tennis and Table football competitions, the Quiz nights
