Don"t work here
There is no honesty in the company. I was under in impression I was helping inform customers of the products that they are buying only to find out that what I was told about the product was completely untrue. I felt as if I had lied to all the customers I had work with.

Amazing job to work with puppies all day
The best job in my eyes. Step into work and grab a puppy and be able to do your part in getting those puppies to loving homes. Helping pet owners better their pets lives by showing and teaching them about the right products. A little too much pressure on the employees to make quotas. Also, it is min wage unless you sell enough to get commission.

Lighthearted and enjoyable
I enjoyed working here because I had a common love for animals with most of my coworkers, most of us got along well and were able to be friends outside of work. The hardest part of maintaining motivation is the pay, the opportunities to make commissions are pretty limited, the pet counselors are given the largest commission and most opportunity and it is a hard position to move up to since they seem to be very selective about who they choose for those positions. On the other hand, you get to spend the workdays with animals and there is a lot of freedom to hold and interact different animals throughout the day while on the job, customers seem to love it when employees love on the animals during the shift since it gives them an opportunity to see how the animals are with people.

it was nice to get to play with puppies.
I really enjoyed helping rescued dogs find their second chance at happiness. I enjoyed working with half of the people there. I did not like how they would talk down to me in front of customers and other employees. I feel like some of the smaller animals were neglected and the ones that they could make the most money off of were treated like royalty. They always said the animals come first but from what I witnessed there that clearly wasn't the case.
Prosfinding rescue dogs forever homes
Consthe way management treated the employees

Petland Corp
Petland as a whole was a good place to work. Unfortunately the last location I worked at, the new ownership had an open affair with another member of the management team which created a lot of conflict within the staff and other members of management.
The business model itself is one of the best, but with ownership like this location has it doesn't have long to last.
ProsGreat business model with animal lovers alike
ConsHorrible ownership

Okay
Good for a high school student trying to make some money. Nothing after. I was constantly called in and pretty overworked. Not that great of a company, but not horrible. Be prepared to do many things NOT in your job description. Literally did the hiring managers job though I was only there for 5 months and got paid the least.

Fun workplace, poor compensation & hours.
Petland is a fun place to work, especially if you are an animal lover. But the hours are short and compensation little.

Active Workplace with Opportunity for Commission
I enjoyed working with the animals and customers at PetLand. I learned how to properly clean fish tanks, handle small animals, and carry on a general sales pitch. The management was pretty sloppy when I worked there, which caused my hours to fluctuate way too much.

No existe cultura laboral. El ambiente es horrible. Nadie tiene nivel licenciatura, la mayoría, ni bachillerato.

Fun and welcoming
I love the coworkers I have had. Very welcoming and accepting. My only complaint is they are not able to compensate as they would like and feel we deserve.

Simply the best place to work.
This place of employment was the best I have ever worked at. Managers, right down to low man on totem pole were enthusiastic, and why not, you had animals around all the time. Customers were allowed to bring in pets, no matter what the pet. Anything from dogs to snakes, to tarantulas, to birds, etc. The hardest part of the job was having to go home at night and not take all the pets with you.

Appalling Management and Employment Value
Employees are given unrealistic expectations. Management is exclusive and supportive. Very egotistical and demeaning to other employees. Company function is unacceptable and difficult to tolerate.
