People helping people succeed.
The best takeaway from working at Pearson is that in all facets (Customer and employees) there is an emphasis on all people succeeding. Add to that the desire for all people to grow and advance is a good indication of how Pearson leadership encourages an environment of success.

Many different departments
I have worked in scoring, development, remote tutoring, and customer service. The first job was obtained through indeed but was seasonal so I picked up part time remote work during the off months. I loved Pearson so much that I took a customer service job just to have a permanent position there.
ProsGreat benefits, large company
ConsLow pay

Very fast paced and dynamic
Enjoyed working as a member of a remote team. Confusing org structure, with lots of spans and layers. Most enjoyable part of job was the fast pace and the feeling like I was making a difference in the arena of education.

Horrible Experience! Absolutely Horrible!
If you receive an offer making slightly less money than you do at Pearson, go with the company that pays slightly less. You’re sanity is more important! My time at Pearson was a complete nightmare. Training is non existence! People watch tv from their computers all day while new hires drown seeking help and guidance. Managers are clueless and have no people skills.

Great for people looking for temporary work.
Seasonal position. Great for people looking for temporary work. Minimum Bachelor's degree required. Work does get monotonous. Supervisors and coworkers are very supportive and helpful.

Company is in bad shape globally not the education powerhouse it used to be.
Nice location... especially the New York Office. Not very diverse. Based in the UK so the British think they know everything and rule the world like the did many, many years ago. A shadow of the company they used to be.

Supportive management
The duties required of employees proved to be rewarding and I had the chance to do important work within education and work alongside professional and kind supervisors and coworkers.
ProsChallenging tasks at work that were achievable
ConsTemporary work assignments, no permanent opportunities available.

Great benefits
Call center mentality and metric driven. Today you are the best thing that ever happened, but if you have a few bad days not meeting metrics, you are made to feel as if you are deliberately not doing your job. Promotions aren't based on performance, but on favoritism and who is cozy with management, especially in the enrollment department.
ProsGreat benefits including health, time off and tuition reimbursement
ConsPoor raises, favoritism when it comes to promotions

The People
The employees at Pearson are the reason to work there. It's not rare to find people who have been with the company for 20+ years. I enjoyed working there and was disappointed to be let go due to a restructuring that resulted in massive layoffs. However the severance package they provided was very fair.

Postive work environment
Highly recommend this company. Positive work environment. Must be self starter, cold calling and building customer relationships a priority to grow business.
