Bad Management ,Makes Good Employees Flee
Typical day working from home position in collections when I first started I take great pride in my work , I actually enjoyed having the ability to inform patients regarding outstanding debts that they owe health care facilities, until I started to be thrown into unrealistic production goals whereas the call quality monitoring is very strange, and based off the opinion of a team leader, there's no official Quality Assurance department like a regular call center, that actually monitors calls and has a standard performance matrix that employees are educated about instead of someone making up something as they go along. Report a problem to HR, guess what it does not help b/c they are all friends. Poor and low pay. Policies and procedures are updated and available to certain people and they will not tell you when policies changes , they simply want you to fail and so they can terminate you. The management sits around and spends precious time researching ways to look for ways to terminate or write people up for no reasons. Clock 6- 8 minutes before you work schedule you will be send to coaching or get a written notification. Customers are not nice b/c they already know you are contacting them regarding a medical bill that they owe. Some customers are understanding and they will actually make payment arrangements and pay their bills. However collectors must collect around about $10,000 a month in bills from patients, but I believe that is a very high goal to meet since we are in
ProsPaycheck every two weeks, Offers benefits they provide all the equipment, no weekends to work from home .
ConsTerrible management, who lies and harass employees daily.

Micromanaged, and treat adults like two year olds
Micromanaged, and treat adults like two year olds!!!!! I came to Parallon in 2012 due to rough job market had to take what I could get. After 3 years, I decided to move up to a higher role and since I had glowing reviews and exceeded expectation in my role it would have been a great option to expand my career. Yet every job I applied for it was always "We have decided on another candidate" and the candidate they hired didn't last 6 months and they left. I applied again and the same thing. Yet "We feel you are strong in your role, but we got a stronger candidate" I have 3 degrees in Business, and figured since I was dedicated, I would have been a much better option. Come to find out they were hiring their friends and anybody who was close to upper management. I put up with that mess until I could not take it anymore. I actually heard a manager say "We need to micromanage more". this was with my own two ears I heard this!!!! Work was not that bad. Just the ridiculous micromanaging, and unrealistic productivity goals. Management motivates employees to quit with nonsense. Ceo turns the awful pto policy into a running joke during townhalls. But where have you seen employees required to use pto for holidays at?????? Back your holidays out of your pto accrual and you are basically getting nothing!!! Ceo needs to address issues instead of laughing them off in townhalls. Anyway, I got my promotion at a mega church. Yes you read that right a freaking church paid me the salary I
ProsJob Security Good Coworkers good location
ConsManagement attitudes, Unrealistic Production goals, Poor training, Pto policy, Micromanaging, My pay after 7 years my raises still didn't amount to $2 an hour more combined, Company needs to stop being so production based and focus on making employees do quality work

Lack of Communication
I believe that things happen for a reason. I interviewed on 7/10/19 and was offered a position on 7/12/19, this tells you how qualified I am to perform work duties demanded by this company. My initial start date was going to be 8/4/19, but due to pending back ground and UDS it was pushed to 8/19/19. I found out today 8/8/19 that they declined my position due to a RX showing on my UDS. An Rx that I take maybe 3-4 times a year for migraines when my alternative Rx does not work. I provided all required documentation in a timely manner and corresponded with the recruiter to ask and inform myself on a daily basis of what I needed to do to correct this. They DECLINED a letter from my provider/prescriber and they also seem to have DECLINED the records showing my prescription documentation. The companies VP had the courage to tell me today that I have failed to provide info. in a timely manner, this is why my offer is off the table. Thank God for emails. Being dishonest is not my cup of tea, but also being labeled as lazy and drug user is also not me. My experience with this company even prior to walking to my first day of work has been nothing but stressful. The recruiter never communicates in a timely manner, yet set certain date/time cut offs for you. This experience has showed me that God is just removing me from somewhere where I should NOT be. I have declined three other job offers and resigned at mine as of 8/9/19. This company has emotionally and physically caused stress in

Good launching pad for your career
PROS: I enjoyed the work I did at Parallon. I learned a lot, made great colleagues, and felt accomplished at the end of the day. I apllied with very little experience and I'm greatful I was given the opportunity. I enjoyed the early A.M hours and having the entire afternoon and evening to myself. The benefits were adequate, and the employer 401k match was very generous. You can recognize your coworkers for their accomplishments online which can be viewed by the recipient and others. The building and facilities were always kept very clean. There are often open positions, and if can find time to utilize the learning tools, you can move to diffrent positions easily. CONS: There was a few days of training with a distant online trainer via Webex. Some of the training material was outdated and didn't reflect the current procedure. The training was brief, outdated, not job specific, and not hands on enough to sufficiently prepare new hires for the position. This gave a very 'sink or swim' atmosphere that created stress and insecurity amongst new hires. In turn, the rate of turn over was rapid and constant. In the year I was there I was under 3 diffrent managers, and co workers came and left sometimes just days after getting hired. This created a burden on the shoulders of all my coworkers due to constant understaffing and impossible metrics that did not consider the shortages. There was ample and limitless overtime which is great when you want it, but a lot of people were workin

Heartbroken
Laid off after more than 10 years of service. What’s that tell you how this company values their employees. They preach how they care about us and the world and yet think nothing of laying off hundreds of loyal workers, some who’s worked here 15 yrs or more so they can gain more profit for having cheaper labor overseas. They did it very sneaky too, making you believe and telling you it’s just a transition into a different role, “everybody will have a new home in the company, nobody is losing their jobs” says the management , then slowly moved our entire dept of almost 300 people into different jobs and in 3 waves laid off almost everybody but a handful of people. Instead of trying to figure out where else in this large corporation we can be of use at, the director says “ your job was given to the international coders and so corporate says we have to cut the cord.” Doesn’t matter how long you worked there or your spotless record, you are shown the door when no longer needed and they don’t care you are left devastated, heartbroken and left now to worry about supporting your family as they tout making a billion dollars a month in their quarterly town meetings as I’m now stuck worried about losing my home, not being able to buy food, displacing my children, after I gave over 10 years of my life helping make this company a success. This recently affected the coding dept in all HSC’s in the company, also a lot of IT jobs were given to India as well. I’m sure other depts like bi

Quota Driven, No incentives, Micromanaging and Low Pay
A typical day is you punch in work until lunch (1/2 hour) and work until you leave. Quota driven that you literally do not leave your desk except for breaks (if you can take one) lunch and to go home. There is no down time, its work, work, work because you have to meet your quota and why wouldnt you want to work hard because come review time you can earn a whopping .12 cents an hour!! Yes! $.12!! The pay is embarrassing unless you are just out of high school and still living at home. You are treated like you are in high school with daily email reminders (with photos) of the dress code. Micromanaging at its finest. Work/home balance is non existent and no one interacts like in a "normal" work environment. Its the weirdest place I have ever worked and I worked in reality TV! If you are a "simpleton" then this is the perfect job/company for you. I learned nothing because you are ill trained and even worse when you get to your department. Management has the do as I say not as I do mentality. Co-workers are just people breathing your same air as I was told in orientation, "You are not here to make friends". This place will suck the life out of you. You do your job and go home thats it. No interaction of human anything. The phones are set at a super low decibel so you can hear a pin drop. You can not conduct anything personal ever at your desk and only in the lunch area and on your lunch, that you punch in and out for and has to be 30 minutes exactly so if you punched out at 12:01

Lovely company, management will live you in the dark
This is a wonderful company to work for. They have excellent pay that is actually higher than working for the hospital systems. They have excellent benefits. The work itself is not difficult once you actually have a grasp of their system and which what you need to do for each of the hospitals you may have to handle or if you're not working follow up if you're doing customer service is even easier. But the biggest thing is it depends upon your manager and your supervisor. There are some things that your manager may do where they 100% bent over backwards for you and can help you through it and that's wonderful and there's other times you want them to do things that are actually going to be applicable to the job and what you're doing such as actually helping you with a task that's going to help resolve the issue that is dealing with maybe helping a claim be resolved maybe it's a whole set of claims. If you're trying to drive down a / r, you're going to want that support system and if you don't have it that can make you feel like you're out in the cold so that when you do have your reviews and you never got that support, it feels kind of raw.
ProsExcellent benefits, wonderful people to work with, fun task that they have for the employees, for the most part very involved, we'll try to strive to be a good company
ConsSome managers and supervisors just are not helpful and don't feel the need to be.

Run from this company whatever you do. They will constantly tell you patient care comes first yet productivity is king. You will get written up and fired for taking more than 2 minutes extra per case. The management is really bad, people are brought in and they gut the department to make it look like the job they just came from. We were told that no bonuses or pay raises would occur due to covid which makes sense. A few months later we are told that still no raises but they are hiring 4 people at 60k each. So much for not having the money. The tech they use in the EHR system is ancient, like dos style. Have of the time 50-60% of the documentation you need to do your job will not be there because the drs don’t feel like putting it into the system. Honestly it’s a for profit company that acts like they care about patient safety but they don’t care about anything other than money. 1 Star is too high of a ranking. Even better you can tell looking at cases drs are committing fraud by requiring 2 procedures when traditional treatment calls for it to be done in 1 procedure. There are not ethics here, they will fire you for anything and have manager harass you over any mental illness an employee may be battling.
ProsRemote
ConsThe entire company not caring about anything other than money

Poor Management
Management was very harsh at this company. Scheduling days off had to go with their schedule, not yours. When I would speak with management about a situation that came up, management would back up supervisors and team leads, rather than fixing the issue with management. Their comments were always very negative and inaccurate. I love the people I work with and the team in pre-registration is so much fun. But if you aren’t meeting stats then the everything goes down hill. You are defined and treated as your numbers show, rather than the work you are putting in and how you deal with situations that come up on a daily basis. I do not feel comfortable going to management with concerns I have because they do not listen. They only think of excuses and back up other management. There are no education opportunities to learn and grow, they only tell you what you are doing wrong and leave out how to fix it. I have emailed HR and got nothing back. The company is great with great benefits, but the pre-registration department is an awful department.
ProsBenefits, rewards, opportunities to move to different departments.
ConsTime off, management

Casual Dress Allowed and Many Employees Work From Home
I had to be logged into the phone system at start time ready to take calls. I learned how to collect payments from patients with delinquent accounts. Our management was approachable and willing to assist us. They would keep us informed of any changes we needed to be aware of and let us know if we were responsible for any errors. The managers would intervene if there were any problems between employees and supervisors or other co workers. The workplace culture was rather rigid. There were no cell phones allowed on the floor and conversations between coworkers were frowned upon. Lunches and breaks were assigned and we could not log out of the phone until 5pm. The hardest part of the job was to interact with an irate employee who demanded a supervisor and there were none available. We had to let them vent, apologize to them a lot and assure them that their problem would be solved promptly. The most enjoyable part of the job was processing a large payment by credit card or check for an outstanding balance.
ProsCould wear jeans.
ConsHolidays had to come out of PTO time.

If you were in charge, what would you do to make Parallon a better place to work?
Asked Nov 19, 2019
Get rid of production and just let people work without the pressure of feeling like they are failing. Production is completely unreasonable for those on phones. Communicate and care about your staff Instead leaving them to guess. We should not have to use our PTO for holidays and days the office is closed. Holiday pay is appropriate

If you were to leave Parallon, what would be the reason?
Asked Mar 22, 2017
The only reason I would leave Parallon is if I were offered a promotion somewhere else that allowed me to move up in my career before being able to do so here. It is honestly such a great company to work for. From my manager to our entire team it’s wonderful!
Answered Oct 17, 2020
The need to wear business attire in the ER is what made me leave. We deserve to wear scrubs and comfortable shoes, we are running back and forth all day in the ER, responding to codes in these clothes is very inconvenient and uncomfortable! People are not going to pay you their copay either way and wearing a fancy outfit isn't going to change their mind.
