A great company! When a customer sees me patrolling in my clean ironed Paladin uniform, wearing a tie, shoes polished, smile on my face, eye contact and willingness to help in any situation, they show respect and admiration to Paladin Security and to me as a representative of such a great security company.
I've been working in the Hospitals of Southern Ontario with Paladin for about half a year now. I also work with 2 other major Security companies at the same time so I believe it is easy to compare them all together.
Paladin was great for the first few months, the training is pretty in depth and they treat you very respectfully which is great for newcomers to the field, their training will help you in the future. In my experience though once I was placed on site, all management oversight drops to a minimum unless you are being repremanded. It is not uncommon for team leads or managers to contact you the day after your shift asking why patrols were not done on time in a displeased manner without checking to see what was going on at the hospital during that time.
During this Pandemic Paladin is the one of the only guarding companies not providing their guards with danger pay. For a company that focuses highly on Healthcare environments I find this very frustrating. Both other companies I work for have either given their guards a raise or provided danger pay. When the topic is brought up to management they will ignore you. Guards are not showing up for their shifts because they feel they are not paid enough to be on the frontlines and yet managers still don't address the problem.
Lastly, the customer always comes first at Paladin. Some sites are not issued the proper gear we are trained to use because they don't want to annoy the customer. Some Hospitals ask us not to
I have been with Paladin for 8 months have learned so much about the Security Industry and the needs and requirements it takes to make it a successful and reliable business.
I get to meet and speak with people from different cultures and personalities that makes each day different.
My work environment is exactly what I was looking for with great colleagues.
I appreciate that my managers take the time to commend my work and let me know that seemingly minute tasks are actually impacting the company on an important scale. Paladin places a lot of emphasis on team building, so the work environment is pretty great. My favorite aspect is that I feel like I'm making a difference everyday.
Prosmeaningful work, friendly managers, fun work environment
Good company with good pay and benefits. I find they are not too in your face and will help you out whenever you ask. I have no complaints on this company.
The job is easy and will learn the job in and out in a few weeks.
However, supervisors are not helpful as hey themselves dont know what they are doing.
However, the HR team is really good and listens to your concerns and bring out the best solution possible for any given situation
Fair compensation and professional work environment
We all work together to make this a fun and low-stress workplace. Supervisors and management are easy to reach and available to discuss issues. Room for growth, help with certificates and continuous training opportunities. It is refreshing to work for a company who genuinely cares for their employees.
ProsFriendly work environment, wages, and benefit
ConsI can’t think of any, I have worked for other companies and this is the best.
Lots of mobility, move within departments or move up the ranks. There is no shortage of opportunities for promotions and professional growth for those who are willing to work for them.
Management is proactive in listening to employee concerns and has made several positive changes in work conditions based on this feedback.
Down to earth managers who are easy to talk to and work with. Extremely professional and fair when it comes to scheduling and posting.
ProsClear career path, above average pay, and benefits
ConsNight shifts and working on weekends and holidays. Comes with the job.
No shortage of shifts, stable job
Good entry point for possible careers in security/ law enforcement careers
Fellow security officers are very professional and easy to work with
Communication between people at the site and office is great
Lots of challenging and interesting posts some that pays very well
Employee care coordinators that are there to provide support and guidance when needed
ProsFree training, help with licenses, flexible schedule, health benefits
ConsBeing a security officer is not a job for everyone.
Great working culture at Toronto Pearson International Airport.
Mobile Patrol Officer is conducting external patrol and ensures safety and security of all people, objects and property. MPO is performing patrol of all remote area of the airport. Works close with Public Safety Officers and PRP. Assisting with emergencies, provides traffic control and monitors pedestrian crosswalk at most busiest areas of the airport.
The workload was fast and furious in the operation centre during my time. May have changed but was not a very positive attitude in the room and made work difficult at times.
I am working here more than one year. Its a nice and friendly place to work. There are flexible shifts and place to work. I suggest others to work here.
No real issues with the company decent wage not liviable but better than not working. I have been with them for 3 years. I am 14 year vet in this field.
At the end its security opportunites are there if you know the right channel to go through for guidance
Managers are kind yet helpfull.
Paladin has lots of opportunities for security guards looking for work, and they'll even pay for your training for the security licence. The downside is they don't pay very well, so you'll be constantly seeing new faces at sites which makes it hard to form a collaborative environment. Hours are flexible though as they have plenty of sites to choose from.
Colleaques are great. We back each other up. Long Hours, upgraded skills through online courses at Paladin Security. Work days 12 hr shifts 2 weeks of days and two weeks of nights. Every other weekend off. Work in hospital enviroment where we can have different situations we can deal with.
This job has really helped me grow as an individual. It has pushed me into strengthening myself and becoming a great team player at any employer I am working for.
No job is perfect regardless of how you look at it. There are a number of opportunities if you make yourself available for them. The people you work with vary from site to site.
The company does not care for the well being of their employees. States that it is competitive wages but really its not. Good if you like long shifts. Only perk is 4 on 4 off
Prosacquire a lot of knowledge
Consterrible wage
3.0

This company was giving me a great wage but they were very unorganized they would book me in shifts without letting me know prior and also they told me to leave site as in on incident and said that everything was fine however the next day i was marked as a no show and almost lost my job
Prosflexible hours, great wages, friendly staff
Consunorganized management, hard work conditions
