Management
The management when I first started was phenomenal the store manager was great the people were great, but the new management had no idea what they were doing and made me feel bad.
was great until you were told that you had to do "team bonding" with other managers and that turned out to be bbqs and trips to Disneyland..... and on the companies time. when the store is running on min hours, and it's 1 part coverage, I DID NOT agree with that at all.

Pacific Sunwear
Day by day changed while working for Pacsun, each day was a new obstacle to achieve in a timely matter. Even though i was with Pacific sun wear for quite sometime there was something lacking in the last month or so while working for Pacsun unfortunately the lack of support from upper management in the past few months lacked severely.

Growth Opportunities Available
As a typical retailer, growth is available if store management is strong though growth would not exceed position of store manager. The environment can be toxic and unprofessional. I was able to gain management and valuable experience.

Easy Going Workplace
Typical day would include engaging and selling with customers, processing shipment, merchandising and keeping the store up to standard. I learned how to work in a customer number 1 selling environment and how to make a sale and keep a customer happy and just got an overall Retail Sales experience. Management was okay, they seemed very disorganized and a lot of tasks were last minute, I never got the chance to really get deep into the management and corporate side of things with the company but it just felt like we were always late on setting floor sets and our company emails would never come in a timely manner. Good company to work for, easy going work environment and customers, and a great product that many, including myself, seem to enjoy.
ProsEasy-going work environment, lienent dress code, good product
Struggling company with plenty of room for improvement.
The overall environment is relaxed and employees and management are approachable. A typical day would require signing in, running the cash register, assisting customers, keeping the sales floor clean, folding clothes non-stop (especially at the end of the day), and rearranging displays according to a black and white, poorly printed image in a booklet that doesn't have any kind of information to help identify items whatsoever. The spotlights used in the store were very uncomfortable to employees constantly moving around as it became extremely hot and uncomfortable in the store.
Management was very nice and professional, however, the job itself gave my manager serious anxiety issues and that particular store I worked at had issues finding management that could turn the place around. Training for new employees could have been far better as I never received proper cash register training. The workplace culture was very laid back, however, it could become very hectic at times without the necessary amount of help needed.
The work hours I received were very strange and I never felt like I was given enough and the pay itself was not worth the amount of effort I was putting in. Placing sensors in specific clothing items was tedious and annoying, especially in the backroom where it felt like a sweat shop. The company seems to have lost touch over the years with what their audience is interested in and the costs of items. Their sales seem to lack strong appeal as a result of this.
I enjoyed working there. It was a seasonal job so I wasn't there for long. I would greet customers, stock, and help out in any would that I could. The co-workers and managers were great. Didn't have any conflicts whatsoever. The hardest part of the job would probably be the customers. Sometimes you had to deal with customers that weren't easy to please. But the most enjoyable part of my job would also be working with the customers. If you keep a positive attitude, then your day is always a good one.

Good low traffic job
Pacsun was a fun place to work at. Great team members and awesome Atmosphere made it feel like I wasn't at work every day. Great pay with overtime for management.
i learned that not every manager there has your best interest at heart. Whereas there are others who want to see you succeed on every level.
Higher level executives will cut employees to maintain their salaries, while giving the "survivors" the work of 3 or more people.
most of the time, company was reactive instead of proactive when dealing with issues that could have easily been dealt with in the first place

Questions And Answers about PacSun
How are the working hours at PacSun?
Asked Jun 17, 2016
The worst. I had to ASM’s fall asleep driving home from work in the same week. My DM couldn’t care less, except for the deadline. HR was also no help. I personally worked 38 hours in two and a half days, only to come back that half day and close the store.
Answered Nov 11, 2018
Your hours will vary every single week due to the fact that the store is going under and not profiting nearly as much as it should be. Therefore, the stores cannot afford to give any associates more than ten hours a week.

It's very smooth and fun to be in but sometimes it would get boring as it's in a small part of the lake george outlets buildings.
