Overall a good job for a young person
I struggled working here because of the pace and the atmosphere at times as well as a lot of personal things going on but I loved the staff and management.

50/50 experience
Like most tip based jobs the money you make is solely up to you, but often times the Cooperation/management team was not on your side. all walk and no talk is how many of my coworkers viewed the environment to put it simply. If you can put up with daily drama and unnecessary stress whilst maintaining a facade with the customer then you can survive here but overtime those two can outweigh the scales of maintaining a content and successful life.

Fast paced, easy money, flexible schedule, discounted meals, was able to build regular customers, enjoyed working with and getting to know people in the community.

Flexible work hours if in school
Flexible work hours if in school. Evening shifts are busier and therefore more money. Same goes for the weekend. Helps being friendly and attentive. On feet all day long.
ProsFlexible shifts in planned ahead
ConsOn feet all day & work most nights and weekends. No schedule departure time.

High energy and sociable work place
A typical day would be arriving early, talking to customers, packing food orders and formulating the fastest route to take. I learned that in the business world that you have to be quick to learn and to always listen to the customer. The most enjoyable part of the job was seeing the customers happy and knowing I went the extra mile for them.

Truly a great company, but work life balance is tricky.
Overall a great place to work. The advancement opportunities are tremendous. Work life balance is not always great. I work a lot of hours each week. Miss a lot of family things.

It has its ups and downs, but mostly downs
A typical day working here is gloomy. It use to be a fun place to work but that shipped sailed a long time ago. No one is held accountable for their actions, there's no support from the management team when we need them. I did learn a good bit from working here like being a leader and being a team player. I'd say the hardest part of this job is having to go through the amount of managers that we do. Every time we get comfortable with one they end up being transferred to a different store. Its difficult trying to work as a team when your leaders are constantly changing. There is no joy working here.
ProsFree food every once in a while
ConsPoor Leadership

Very corporate environment
It was the type of place that valued a homogeneous style. Everything had to mirror all the other locations. Management was so concerned with fitting corporate guidelines, that their individual employees often fell victim for not fitting the idealized goals. It was all about sales and not about the guest experience. Or about employees feeling safe.

Good place to make some quick, easy money
As long as you can multitask, move quickly, and just do your job well, Outback Steakhouse will be a good job. You'll make good money and management is usually pretty good at keeping your needs in mind while still keeping the store running smoothly.

Front of House
Management doesn’t care about you. Worked there since i was 16, and only gotten worse since. Pay isn’t good unless it is holiday seasons. No sick day “or you are fired”. No paperwork on write ups or call outs. They have “favorites” and they have employees. They do not follow conduct of orders on employee rights.
