Surgical Coordinator | Orlando, FL | Jul 26, 2020
Surgical Coordinator
Truly best place to work. The work ethic is very different from other places. You are required to do a good job all the time. This organizational expectation makes the culture a much better one since you know when you need something done its going to get done right ✅

A great place to work.
I love my job with the opportunity to work 100% remote. The Orlando work environment is great. Management is very supportive. Education opportunities are provided. Great opportunities for building up a Career Ladder.

Progressive Care Nurse | Orlando, FL | Jun 4, 2021
Best place to work
I started here as a graduate nurse and continue to grow to appreciate it more and more. The staff is friendly and helpful. There are opportunities to grow no matter what direction you choose.
ProsStaff, management, facility
ConsRatios sometimes unsafe, not great food.

No job security, small merit raises, the longer you work there the less money you make as they never give raises to current industry compensations only small merits, HR terrible with responses,

Decent Company, lots of room for improvement
Executive Leadership is out of touch with what their employees do and need. Mid level managers are great and do the best that they can with the limited resources/guidance they are provided by their management team.

Summary
Leadership at Orlando Health. Fortunately I was able to work independently in one department. There were others departments where management did not allow employees to work independently even though they are in leadership. This can create a tense work environment. Be very careful of management and the culture of the department before accepting any position. There’s potential to end up with a leadership team that do not care about your personal life. Family, spouse, kids.

Department Supervisor | Orlando, FL | Sep 8, 2017
Challenging job.
I worked for this hospital many years ago. Many years after leaving the medical transcriptionists were outsourced. I am unable to comment on other departments of the hospital.
ProsRadiologists appreciative. Great manager.
ConsNasty medical records manager. Mostly poor medical transcriptionists with lots of infighting.

Nice work atmosphere with growth potential.
The hardest part of the job was doing medicare. It is very meticulous. I enjoy working with the with the people there and coordinating the luncheons with the vendors was fun. The hospitals are very nice with a large lunchroom and area to sit outside.
ProsNice lunchroom and walking area. Growth potential.
ConsPay was less than expected.

If you were in charge, what would you do to make Orlando Health a better place to work?
Asked Jun 26, 2017
Fair and safe assignments. Encourage experienced nurses to apply by paying more. Have more perks for people who have high seniority. Stop catering to new grads who are just using the organization as a stepping stone. Have better cafeteria choices for nightshift.
Answered Jan 5, 2020
Better pay for the contractors.
Answered Nov 19, 2019
On average, how many hours do you work a day at Orlando Health?
Asked Sep 30, 2016
40+ hours but due to COVID, overtime is not approved so my hours have to be adjusted to 40. Flexing hours is an option, but it would require a lot of unfinished projects and operational items that would effect patient care.
Answered Oct 20, 2020
Trabajo 8 horas diario y más de ser necesario

What advice would you give the CEO of Orlando Health about how to improve it?
Asked Jun 15, 2017
Advice to the CEO: For those who are in Management, they should be required to complete CEUs and/or obtain membership with reputable organizations (e.g ACHE or MGMA). That way they are continuously growing, learning, and being the best leaders that the team members deserve. For executive leadership, personally I feel that they should be required to obtain memberships and continuing education as well. Similar to physicians, they are required to complete CE credits for continued educations to ensure they’re providing quality care - why not the executive leaders and management? Why should physicians be board certified and the leadership doesn’t? Although university degrees show commitment towards educational growth and knowledge, but the healthcare environment is evolving - so should their education.
Answered Oct 13, 2020
Everyone should be treated with respect no matter what your position level is. Example you have $2 parts and $2000 parts in your car engine. If you are missing that $2 part your engine is not going to run smooth so you have to pay attention to your $2 part so your engine can perform at its pick. Happy employees produce high rating.

How did you feel about telling people you worked at Orlando Health?
Asked Oct 9, 2016
I enjoy telling people I worked there and usually get a good response!
Answered Oct 18, 2019
The WORST place I've worked in my life!!!! The pay is horrible. The benefits are horrible. Staff members set you to fail because they feel threatened that you're trying to take their job position. Administrators NEVER come to the unit that you're working on to see how the work environment is. It's a cut throat and stab you in the back, while they smile in your face environment.
