This job contributes to Starbucks success by supporting programs to ensure compliance with Starbucks Standards of Business Conduct. Conducts complex investigations involving allegations of violation of law and company policies. Reports findings to appropriate operations, partners resources, and legal partners. Promotes ethical behavior, facilitates proper decision-making, and provides Starbucks partners with the tools and resources to provide a safe and secure work environment.
As an Investigator, Behavioral Threat Assessment you will…
Conducts thorough behavioral threat assessments and investigations associated with workplace violence
Recommends remedial action to mitigate risks to partners, customers, and brand
Prepares detailed investigative reports and/or summaries
Partners with attorneys, business units, and human/partner resources, during and upon completion of investigations
Acts as a liaison with federal, state, and local law enforcement officials and prosecutors, and social service organizations in furtherance of conducting investigations
Provides timely and actionable intelligence information on emerging threats to law enforcement
Provides consulting and coaching to partners to ensure compliance with the law and company policies
Provides coaching, direction and leadership support to team members in order to achieve positive outcomes for partners, the business, and customers
Stays current with relevant laws, investigation techniques, and trends in workplace violence threat assessment and mitigation
We’d love to hear from people with:
Legal, Human Resources, Law Enforcement or a related function (3 years)
Experience conducting complex workplace violence threat assessment investigations or related functions (3 years)
Interfacing and consulting with all levels of management, including senior executives
Interpreting, applying and assuring compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations, as well as corporate policies involving workplace violence and other related matters
Experience in managing high level incidents including interfacing with federal law enforcement agencies
Working in a litigation environment and may be called to provide testimony through depositions and/or trials
Ability to provide business support through responsiveness outside of standard business hours including weekends to manage workplace violence incidents and emerging threats Demonstrated ability to identify, manage and negotiate resolution of complex issues which may have no established precedent for resolution
Demonstrated knowledge of employment and labor laws, such as Title VII, ADEA, Executive Order 11246, FLSA, FMLA, ADA, NLRA and relevant state laws and local ordinances
Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA, ASIS/SHRM Workplace Violence Standard and other related industry materials
Certification in interview and interrogation techniques preferred includes: (i.e. Reid Technique, Wicklander-Zulawski, Certified Forensic Interviewer, etc.)
Ability to work independently in setting priorities, meeting deadlines and managing multiple duties in a fast-paced, changing environment
