Overall Reviews at NHS

You can have autonomy, however probably too much.
While there many qualified employees, there were more poorly qualified employee's. Almost no real traing on the job, except for a corporate training, which was not that informative, and most management I encountered showed very little professionalism, if any.
ProsAutonomy to make your own schedule

Very little interaction between staff
NHS is currently renamed and under new management as the owner is from out of state. I enjoyed working with the doctors to improve clients health. It is a very large organization working with the mental health population

Poor place to work
Over 100 client caseload, work always expected. No pay if a client is a no-show. Working over 36 hours a week with a bi-weekly paycheck of under 600.00

Very un-happy company to work for.
Owner always looking to blame anything that goes wrong on someone but never on himself. He can never be made happy
There is no team effort at this place everyone is out for themselves and not working together.

School
Not a job, but Indeed.com seems to automatically think that it is, due to the community service that was required to graduate. For community service, I helped an elderly woman around her house (mow the lawn, rake leaves, pull weeds) and I helped the school directly by helping to prepare for a large banquet that the school was hosting. I helped set chairs and tables, prepared eating utensil bundles for each guest, and helped serve food once the banquet had begun.
ProsCommunity service experience, social interaction
ConsMandatory for graduation

Set up for failure
Poor immediate management that does not hold themselves accountable for their mistakes. I was used for the company’s benefit and terminated based on a lie that was able to be proven.

NHS Digital - temporary worker
Worked at NHS D, initially for a 3 month period, but kept on for an additional 15 months. Left of my own accord.
Worked in a programme management office. Mainly took minutes of meetings and all administrative responsibilities around the setting up of those meetings.
Work not taxing but suited me perfectly.

Poor management and staff turnover
I have nothing more to add to my review. It is my understanding that many staff left during the new director take over due to lack of respect for the staff and the effort and time they put into their positions.

Learning Experience
I only worked part time to learn more about the field of counselling. The workplace culture was very loving and caring. I learned how to do intakes and toxicology. I also learned the task associated with case management. I facilitated some groups with the help of more seasoned counselors who shared openly techniques I utilize today. Good place to learn the business.

Customer Service Supervisor |
Toronto, ON | Dec 9, 2017
Supportive, fast paced, flexible, organized,
A typical work day was dealing with Customer service supervision, handling complaints from home owners, training new staff, making making sure call escalation protocols were adhered to when dealing with emergency client calls, handling billing issues, opening, closing accounts, tracking client accounts, handled accuracy of cross checking reference regarding data entry, scheduled staff breaks, monitored client files to make sure information on file was accurate, updated and correct, Conducted meetings, with staff and upper management to meet fast paced demands of Contractor installations, and Sales team performances. handled cold calling, out going/incoming calls.
I learned to make sure Customer service staff adhered to treating elderly clients respectfully, and following up on client information, by staff members was an essential part of the business running effectively.
Management was very approachable, and listened to any concerns at hand.
Work place culture was dependable, fast paced, and flexible.
The hardest part of the job was scheduling breaks, at times when staff called out last minute.
The most enjoyable part of the job, was being a team player, communicating with clients, staff and management, and being driven in a fast paced environment.
Prosworking on my own, working with people, having down time when I could
Consmeeting all the demands of scheduling at short notice at times

I enjoy my current job working and helping young people who have mental health issues.
Good place to work however spending is being cut and there are becoming fewer opportunities for career progression. Myself and my wife are looking to relocate to Canada and in particular British Columbia area.
