Fantastic Management and team
I have worked for my dentist for 10 years i can honestly say i have learnt a lot over the years. i enjoy my day as everyday is different day challenges and patients my managers have always been very supportive at work and out of work.
We have a team who always work together to make it a great place. Dentist are all great they are part of the team having lunch with support staff and coming along to team building days.
hardest part of the job is losing one of our treasured patient being with the practice for 10yrs you get to know them extremely well.
Most enjoyable part of the job is seeing the patient come back in and having a nice chat with them i love talking to the older patients

A few rotten apples spoiled the bunch.
Head dental nurse bullies training nurse that are younger than her.
Practice manager doesn't listen to anyone and always thinks she is right.
Definitely you're face has to fit type of practice.
Training was shocking, didn't know if I was coming or going half the time
Wouldn't go back even if was payed triple, avoid at all costs.

Only wants your money
This place is all about getting the patients in and having them get as much treatment done as possible to get the most money out of them. Would not recommend this place to anyone, patient or employee.

It was a corporate office so it was by the book
It was a great place to learn new things involved in dentistry and patient relations also a good environment to learn all about up to date osha regulations and hippa laws.

Reliable and supportive.
With the current circumstances i luckily got hired as a full time receptionist in March 2020 and i worked full time for a couple of weeks before lock down and the current circumstances happened.
In my full time weeks i learnt so much on the job as i got thrown into the deep end which was challenging, but fun.
I did online courses to help my knowledge of the job role and my manager went through all the safety procedures and was very knowledgeable with anything I asked. My colleagues were very supportive and teaching me everything on the job at the time.
As the current circumstances with covid - 19 happened; the company have been so supportive putting us on a rota and giving us tasks and challenges as a practice to maintain, and to make sure we are still giving 100%customer service, I feel very lucky i have still got my job, i feel supported and can trust the company if any incident was to happen again in the future.
The hardest part of the job would be multitasking at a fast pace, if you cant work in a fast paced environment, and using your initiative this work place is not for you. For someone who loves to keep busy you would find the job- fast paced, fun, rewarding and structured.
I am loving the job and happy to come to the work place, every day is different and i feel like i fit in with all the colleagues that work here :)
ProsCoffee, tea, NHS discounts, 1 hour lunch break

Positive working culture and career progression
At {my}dentist you are lead by a positive leadership with opportunities for progression if wanted. Management are open to new ideas and patient focused.
Brilliant staff benefits including rewards schemes, annual salary and holiday review.
As a new starter I have had a positive induction to the company and I am overwhelmed with the support from the company, as I have no dental background it was quite daunting to start a role where I will be speaking publicly to patients about their journey. But the team have fully supported me and no question has been received as a daft one.

Don’t do it
Corporate ignores red flags and complaints about verbally abusive management. It’s all about money if you don’t make goal they make you feel like you don’t work at all and the front desk is none stop!

During covid 19 the practice/company have been amazing
Working for mydentist on Isle of Wight has been a good experience, currently working at Ryde and Newport - the teams as a whole work together, helpful, understanding, friendly. Both practices have exceptional managers - during COVID 19 the company on a whole have been amazing, they have supported the staff with regular updates and either being paid or on furlough during this pandemic.
The managers have been on site to help staff continuously and do regular calls for us.
There are always ups and downs at every company but my overall experience at mydentist has been good
ProsGood staff, good enviroment
ConsCan be long hours and fast paced

Innovative company leading the way in dentistry
A great company to work for. Having worked for several corporates in the past I have found Mydentist to be supportive of its staff. The infrastructure has developed over the time I’ve been here. It’s a business that is always striving to do better and is clearly leading the way in dentistry.

Dental assistant
My typical day will be testing the sterilizing machines to make sure they are working correctly. then i receive pods with dirty instruments in where i then scrub the instruments clean, then load them into a washer. when the wash is finished i them put the instruments into an autoclave where they get sterilized. when that is finished i then bag them up and date them and send them back to the dental surgeries. At the end of the day i drain all machines and write the data loggings into the books and clean all the working areas down.
Prosflexible hours.
Consstanding all day in a very hot small room.

INTIMIDATING managers who continuously break the employment law
There are threatening issues within the organisation and it all comes down to the managers who treat staff with no dignity and continuously break the employment law.
We have to deal with the following problems on a daily basis:
Interpersonal conflict
Communication problems
Gossip
Bullying
Harassment
Discrimination
Low motivation and job satisfaction
Performance issues
Human Resources Department is a big cover up as they always defend their managers and try to brush everything under the carpet. All the managers are friends within the area and communicate with each other when it comes to any type of complaint raised by their staff. Staff gets repeatedly bullied, threaten with disciplinary actions and when they try to raise any complaint against the managers they get the worst type of treatment as they are openly admitting they will do anything in their power to get you sacked.
They give you tons of policies to sign that they themselves do not follow.
My Dentist's staff is feeling strained as a result of having too many demands made on one.
This is definitely not a healthy environment to work in.
ProsStrong team spirit within the practices
ConsBreaking employment law. Management. Bullying
