Overall Reviews at Merry Maids
5.0
Everyone is nice and schedules usually stay the same for the most part.
I enjoyed my experience at Merry Maids and I would recommend a job with them to someone I know likes cleaning. You have to really love cleaning to do this job. Staff are very friendly.
ProsAAA, 4 oil changer/year, 401k, monthly bonuses if qualified and healthcare is offered
ConsHealthcare is extremely expensive, there are no annual raises in fact raises are rare!

Exhausting and not enough pay
You end up putting a whole lot of miles on your car, in which you have to have to work there. You take turns driving and although it makes your paycheck bigger, it kills your vehicle. Some houses are beyond filthy and you work yourself to the bone on those move out cleanings. The other maids were not friendly and the moral was very poor. I would not go back to that job if it was the last thing I had to do. When they moved me to the office, I would still have to go out cleaning if too many girls called out. I wasn't taken seriously by either office staff or other maids.
ProsSometimes off really early to enjoy the rest of the day
ConsHave to hurry through each cleaning but can't make mistakes, put too many miles on vehicle

Great company
Great company, amazing boss and great advancement opportunities. Pay is good, you get paid weekly and the owner is easy to work with. Fair employment.

Typical Cleaning Company
There are definitely normal routines in this company. At first the company seems very family oriented but in reality it is not. The culture of the workplace is get as much out of someone as possible and move to the next. While the culture is hard to handled, the company will bend over backwards for those who might give more than 125%
ProsAlways busy
ConsLack of compassion

Merry Maids
I worked for Merry Maids right out of high school. It was a good position to get me on my feet and into the workforce.

Flexible hours
Some days were busy and some were slow. Wasn't the best for a dependable stable outcome. The owner was very relaxed and easy going but sometimes it wasn't always the best.

Fast paced and hard work
A typical day consists of cleaning and sanitizing. Learn cleaning and sanitation techniques. Decent management. Fast workplace culture.
Hard part of the job is moving from work site to work site. I enjoyed meeting the clients
ProsNo shortage of work

Great Work environment
Merry Maids of Laurel was like a family. from the customers to the office and field staff. Not to much room to grow , pay was good if you worked in sales but no room for advancement.
