Harris Teeter
lmao the customers and managers were rude and just a big joke. don't work for this **** show company. No respect, no room for growth. Adults in manager positions acting like spoiled children, the customers acted like spoiled children. Like I said it was a joke.

Nice Place to work
This was a very fast past work environment. Time typically flies by. Co Workers were very friendly and always available to assist me. Management had open door policy and always available. Company offers many career opportunities.

It is a fast paced environment that keeps you on your toes.
A typical day at the job at Harris Teeter is fast paced, busy, and a great way to interact with people.
I have learned that everyone is not willing to work as a team, but with patience, diligence, and empathy, you can. I have always gotten along with most people. Meetings have always helped with teaching employees to work together. Proper management is a big plus.
The hardest part of the job was being understaffed, and still trying to exceed their expectations of us.
I really enjoyed working with the customers. I got to know many of them, and they would come to me if they needed help with anything. I knew most of their names, and I used them whenever possible.
ProsGreat discounts, and free items for employees. They also gave out gift cards for doing your job well, or for customer compliments.
ConsNot enough leniency with bathroom breaks, and othe personal need, during a shift.

Customer service, working with people, diversity
I developed many skills including scheduling, truck unloading, Training and managing 9 associates in dept. Becoming very dependable, strong skills. I enjoyed being a team player and being very hands on when helping the dept.

Great Advancement Opportunity if Motivated
I've been with the company for almost 9 years. I moved up quickly from P/T to department manager within 2 years, so hard work is definitely noticed at HT. I ultimately decided the money (which, as a manager, is competitive) was not worth the headache of managing people who didn't really want to work, or met the standard of "Well, at least they show up". The company has always treated me well, the benefits are decent enough, and honestly, if you are driven to work and don't have a lot going on in your life and wouldn't mind sacrificing work/life balance to get ahead, you can achieve that here. It's a bad retail work environment at the moment, and all retail is struggling to get through the day without staffing, so it's all relative. I have stepped down to a position in which I basically work alone, so I do not have to worry about managing people.
In the end, if you're young and driven, this is definitely the company to get on with.

Place for growth, but experience is dependent on store
While working at Harris Teeter, I worked at various stores, in different positions. The management was hit or miss, and sometimes corporate will override their own rules in an attempt to please the customer, which just makes life worse for you as an employee.
Pay is not the best, but if you work there long enough, advancements and annual raises are almost a guarantee.

Wonderful benefits
Great place to work. Usually same routine day after day but never gets old. I have learned so much about customer service as well as management responsibilities. My goal has always been to work in an office environment. The hardest part of my job is working on Tuesday nights from 9pm until... The most enjoyable part of my job is meeting many different customers everyday as well as having a fantastic work team as well.

Positive work environment and enjoyable
This has been one of the best places I have ever worked at. The employees were nice and they trained you well. There was also chances to expand your skills and learn new traits at this job. If you had the potential to learn more skills they helped you learn.
