Fun place to work, great culture, low advancement & job security
Benefits here are unlike most any job out there. I started out with 9 weeks paid vacation because they purchased the company I had been working at for 7 years. $35 a week in free lunch money to order food from their service to your office. Every Friday we had a catered lunch for the whole office. The office was always well stocked with beverages, snacks, coffee, gum and other amenities. You would never go hungry if you forgot your lunch at home. Staff are incredibly friendly and collaborative in their efforts to work as a team and get the job done. Downside is incredibly low job security. Three years after they purchased the company I started out with they eliminated most employees from the transition. I do not feel they move people into roles of increasing responsibility based on merit and work ethic. Chances of moving up in the company if you are not in Chicago are slim to none. Most everyone from the transition, even managers and department leads, have moved on to other jobs or have been let go. I did get a very fair severance package and have no ill will towards the company, although I feel they waste the talents of their workers by leaving them frozen in mundane positions.

Unique Company transitioned to being typical
When I worked there GH was changing. It morphed from a unique fun environment to a typical call center and numbers driven environment. Because of the nature of the business complicated issues weren't the norm however quick glib responses to customers was expected to the point that when some actual investigation into an issue was required it was discouraged. We were managed from a reactionary model vs a proactive management model. Decent pay various schedules and decent benefits did make my life at the time easier. Team leads were great for the most part but some of the managers were micromanaging egomaniacs on a power trip, needing some basic people skills. One take away though was that some customers took ordering food way too seriously like wanting refunds for $30 worth of food because a 50 cent condiment was missing or not understanding why their food delivery would be late during cataclysmic winter snow storm. Decent company if you can deal with a typical call center environment.
ProsWeekly Food ordering stipend
ConsInconsistent break and lunch schedules changed every day sometimes during your shift.

An established tech company with a start-up feel
Grubhub is a phenomenal place to work! There is a bustling, active, culture throughout all the offices across the country. They are one of the leaders in their industry and it is clear to see why. Had my contract not ended I would have loved to remain with the company.

Management is laid back, but definitely has favorites and it is NOT based on how hard you work.
I worked my bum off every day more than anyone around me, to be talked down to, stared at constantly and micromanaged by some creepy chick floor manager (sat right next to me), and treated like trash. I watched a guy who did literally nothing, was away from his desk for hours at a time, and treated others badly, able to do whatever he wanted, ignore all rules, and it definitely costed everyone else. Some people can cuss and some cannot. Everything is wish washy. I wouldn't recommend this horrible place to my worst enemy. The pay was good (for me) due to my experience, but not enough for the emotional abuse.

Fast Growing Company
Grubhub is a fast growing, hard charging company that expects every employee to act like an owner. It is fun to work for a company moving forward but can also feel very uncertain in your own role as it can fell leadership has more commitment to the end goal than the people getting them to the goal. You will share in the success if you can keep up with the pace of change.

Fun Work Place and Casual Dress
Good work environment, nice staff. Managers don't always communicate information. Not too many growth opportunities. Very poor understanding for employee emergencies.

It was a cool company, but I didn’t get past the temp stage
Management and culture was great. Everybody was incredibly pleasant. However, I worked there just shy of a year and was not hired full time. It was pleasant while I worked there.
ProsCulture, environment and management

Best paying national food delivery company
I can't tell you hardly anything if you're going to reveal everything publicly.
Relatively good pay compared to other food delivery. Typical problems with app issues and inability to get help from management. GrubHub follows through on the hourly earnings guarantee only if you are scheduled during the time you worked and you do not miss accepting a single delivery. But due to the app problems you always seem to be unable to accept a delivery no matter what you do.
ProsWork whenever you like
ConsNot much driver help with delivery or app issues
