Coworkers and nice clean big store, good schedule, I had weekends off. Nice friendly customers,,Complements from the customers, coworker said that I am a hard worker, customer said that I was giving excellent customer service

Great for those who new and young going into business related career.
I worked in multiple department throughout the years but worked less than 5 years. Most job had been a part time but it take a long time to get into full time. The do not want anyone going into overtime.
There are opportunity to work in other position but it take time and sometimes it's always the manager decision.
They do offer benefits for full time and there is a time-frame to get those benefit otherwise you'll have to look for those elsewhere.
The great things are best for new retail workers. They provide customer service training that are critical for the retail industry, other video training to work throughout the store, get a yearly performance review and your pay is increased from there if you do good. Often times when it is slow - due to lack of customers - they will send anyone home early.
The hardest part of the job was a random position I had worked in gave me too much to work for and constantly failed at it. Unable to improve with lack of help and was told to ask for help but at times other associate are so busy with other stuff that it make it impossible to get something done on time as needed. Each department is different though and most of the time those are managed well.

Some stores better than others
Overall working for Food City depends on your store manager, some are better than others. But they are very low paying compared to other grocery chains and raises are hard to come by.

I love my job
I love Food City so much I couldn’t think of anything better I work for the most amazing people they are understanding when I am having a bad day or need help the company is just amazing I just love it

Worked there for years low pay
I enjoyed the job there it just was a lot of expectations for the amount of pay I actively work my way through the store ended up as human resource coordinator/back office a lot of responsibilities with no pay increase

Relaxed, but professional place to work.
The management was very mindful when it came to making your schedule. They stick to only the days you say you can work and the time slots you provide. The flexible hours made it a great job to have while going to school.

Lots of good wholesome employees who care
I say has the milk expired! because I'm going to food city anyways. There you can find food from round the world. See smiling faces all around and a helpful young manager who can pretty much solve any of your problems.

Good people who work there full-time
It’s a really great place to start. I worked my way up from a cashier to manager so there is room to grow. I could appreciate a greater salary as a manager because you are taking on a number of positions. It’s a good community of workers. Managers and supervisors are very supportive.

The people and management had favorites and you were treated unfair unless in their circle of backstabbing people and lots of liars also too many couples!
