Awful place to work
The team that I was on was clicky, rude and thought it was ok to get the team together to get drunk and kicked out of bars. They admire those employees that backstab their colleagues. It was the single most awful place I have ever worked. simply awful

Productive and busy
This is a place that offers advancement. I enjoy working for the company but I always keep my eyes opened for other opportunities that may arise. I look forward to continuing my career with the company but should something more suited to my needs become available I may have to consider it.
ProsOpportunities for incentives
ConsHealthcare is too expensive for employees and schedules can change up to twice a year

Call center
A lot of rules working in a call center. Not a fun place to work. Commissions keep getting cut, was a good job with decent commission structure, since ACA can't make a living need to move on.

Great Company
Great company to work for who really has the best interest in helping employees. Management can sometimes have issues but most of that is people leaving and budget restraints.

A good company to work for.

Questions And Answers about Florida Blue (Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida)

What is the interview process like at Florida Blue (Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida)?
Asked Jan 5, 2016
It is required that everyone submit a video interview. This was a real hardship for me because my cell phone is not great and my laptop has very little memory so I was unable to download Chrome, which is required to run the HireVue app being used. I emailed HR and asked for an accommodation but was told that everyone needs to create a video in order to be considered. I spent a whole day off trying to find a place to make my video interview. I tried the public library, the local career center, and another career center. The library did not have video cameras, the first career center made me wait two hours after which I found out that they didn't have Chrome installed and wouldn't install it for me. The second career center computer had something wrong with its audio so I couldn't make a professional video. At that point I sent an embittered email to HR detailing my difficulties and lo and behold when I got home I got a very conciliatory and apologetic phone call from an HR manager there. She invited me to take an onsite interview the following week. The next week I went to the interview only to learn that I still had to use my malfunctioning, cheap cell phone to try and change my password so I could get onto the Hire Vue app. I am 59 and was having a lot of trouble viewing my screen so it took awhile. I was very surprised and disappointed that they didn't have a computer for me to use to retrieve my password on. I mean, that seems like the minimum they could have done to offer a reasonable accommodation. Meanwhile the facilitator from HR and a dude from IT were making small talk when they weren't saying patronizing asides to me like "I have a pair of readers you can borrow" and kinda rolling their eyes at this ridiculous ol' dinosaur trying to get a job (me). Finally I just got really frustrated, burst into tears and left. I told them that I found the whole process very humiliating and was probably disqualified anyway due to my technical difficulties and the fact that I had given HR an honest opinion of their screening process the week before. I honestly don't know why Florida Blue has hitched its wagon to the dubious death-star-black hole that is HireVue. As a former FB member, I can attest to the horrible customer service experience I had on each and every call, so I can only conclude that relying on video interviews is attracting psychopaths, narcissists and exhibitionists rather than people who can actually keep a civil tongue in their heads. This process scares away a lot of honest and sensitive people who just want to work in customer service.

How long does it take to get hired from start to finish at Florida Blue (Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida)? What are the steps along the way?
Asked Nov 9, 2016
Applied beginning of sept 2020, (I already had a pre-recorded interview on file from a previous position I applied for in August, which led to a live video interview and then was ultimately rejected... THANKFULLY and I do not know if it was viewed for THIS position) was called mid-late sept to do a phone interview and was offered the job within a few hours. Background check, drug screen and previous employment is through HireRight (took two weeks!!!) I start training towards the beginning of Nov.
