Great Place
Great place to work, friendly teams, and great work/life balance. Great leadership team with great company culture. Always willing to help you succeed and maintain your goals.

Cashier/warehouse/stocker/customer service/maintenance
Overall a good quality work environment. Very flexible hours and decent pay. The two major problems were inconsistent hours and bad communication. Sometime I’d work 30 hours a week (which i liked) and the next week I’d work only 10

It was okay.
Definitely not the best place I worked at, not the worst either. Good spot for high schoolers to get some experience. Scheduling was very wish washy, as one week you would get the max hours you signed up for, other weeks you were scheduled over what you were supposed to be working. Hard to ever talk to the HR manager in person.I believe this was due to the turnovers and the amount of call ins, especially for cashiering (many kids came, worked for about a month, then left) Benifits arent that good. But it gets your foot in the door.
ProsPaid breaks, 10% discount
ConsUnderstaffed, Hard to get through to management, Hard to switch positions.

Good Retail company
Overall the experience of working at Fleet Farm is good, compensation is fair, but as the particular store I worked at was going through restructuring, the hours for part time help were sparse, so becoming full time is a better option.

Fleet Farm Menomonie
This is an awful company to work for. They fired me during my two week notice to quit. On top of that I was treated like scum there. I would never recommend working for Menomonie's fleet farm.
ConsBad Management

Okay Company to work for
When company was owned by Mills family; you could tell the owners cared about keeping employees and treating them fair. Now that the company is owned by an investment company all they seem to care about is the dollar and not keeping employees happy or around. There is a lack of communication within the corporate office with different levels of management being told different ways to do the same thing and no one knows which way is correct until weeks later.

Working at Mills Fleet Farm
Typical day at Mills Fleet farm. It is a fast paced work environment. As an FEO I would count all of the money in the safe morning and night. Prepare deposits, count all money in 34 registers, train cashiers etc

Sucks! Sucks! Sucks!
OVER STRESSED AND UNDER PAID! What good is a 10% Team Member Discount when they don't pay wages high enough to use it on?? Just a ploy they use to try to sucker in new employees!
ProsMost co-workers are nice
ConsLow wages and understaffed

Loved it
I did more than just the title I was given, but being flexible and learning fast was very helpful in this position. I loved it.

Decent company, lots of friendly co-workers
Help customers find their purchases in the outdoor yard and back warehouse. Stock merchandise, unload and load semi-trucks by hand or forklift.
ConsShort breaks, if any

How are the working hours at Fleet Farm?
Asked Jul 17, 2016
Long 6-8 hours shifts and always work every weekend both days. Never get any breaks because they conveniently forget about you.
Answered Feb 6, 2020
We are supposed to have a 4 week or something rotating schedule. But we never follow it I guess. Hours could be anywhere from 5 am -930/10 pm. You could be schedule to close and be scheduled the next morning at 6 am. Definitely no set schedules, especially for full time

What is the most stressful part about working at Fleet Farm?
Asked Jan 29, 2018
Always being watched on camera for everything you do, that includes opening and closing your cash register, going to the bathroom, as there’s cameras in the bathrooms, break rooms, parking lot, so they know what kind of car you drive and where you park, so they basically know every aspect of your life just by watching you on camera except for where you live. Oops, forgot they have my address, maybe I should check for cameras there too.

Management/corporate expects you to be super human and finish an unrealistic amount of tasks each day, especially if you have no help. Some managers have been regular sales members at one point so they should understand why we can't get EVERYTHING done, yet they are a a manger now so it's our problem, not theirs...

If you were in charge, what would you do to make Fleet Farm a better place to work?
Asked May 30, 2017
Listen, listen, listen and learn from the employees. We are the ones out there on the floor, doing the actual work, day after day. Never heard of a company that schedules some one 7.5 hours and then gives them a 15 minute break. I have always worked for companies that give full time employees a 30 minute lunch and 2 - 15 minute breaks throughout the day. Fifteen minutes is not enough time to heat up and then eat your lunch.

See that your changes you talk about were being done . Your new stores have lots of issues that are not being addressed. The family atmosphere is not at all being implemented. Big mistakes being made . Gas Mart people are not treated as team members. Those people working in the gas mart never included in anything at the store no meals if brought for the team members at the store. Not recognizing for anything. Team members in the stores receive pins, prizes, awards . Never has any of a employee of the gas stations gotten recognized for anything that we heard of. Maybe sometime visit one of the gas marts when visiting you big stores.
