Not a job for grown ups
The management is trash . They are very disrespectful and treat there employees like they're expendable. On top of that the starting pay is $8.50 and they give raises every year so you would have to work there about 3 or 4 years just to make ok money.

Productive and fun workplace! Opportunities for advancement.
If you work quickly and focus on customer service and cleaning up the store, everything goes very well. You usually can get between 10 to 20 hours per week if you are a team member.
Management is wonderful. You will work, nothing difficult, just a lot of walking fast, standing the entire shift, putting product on the shelves, folding mountains of tee-shirts while helping guests at the front check out area. So be prepared to work. Great atmosphere in the store as well! Brightly lit up, lots of color, and fun music on the sales floor!

time speed up being busy all the time
I learned to greet people, more experience in retail, how to count the safe and close the deposit because of how the managers gotten comfortable with me, and overall being helpful at all times. Managers are extremely awesome the on bad side is the general manager don't allowed you to work more than three days a week.

Retail experience
I have been working at this establishment for three years now and I have to say it may have been my first job, but it was certainly a great experience working with a small company that grew rapidly in a short time frame. Everyday brought a new challenge, whether it was dealing with the customers, working inventory, or just working on the sales floor. This job never had a dull moment. I was privileged enough to have a wonderful management team to work with and in fact, after two years, I considered them to be like family! I have to say the most enjoyable part of my job was interacting with customers and individuals from all over the world, and assist them in their decision process and help when needed! I love people. My goal is to make the customer feel better after their purchase than how they felt before entering the store.
ProsA Growing environment

Don't work here
I worked for this company for 5 years in two different stores. Started out as an associate and worked my way up to assistant manager. It was rather easy because no one really knows what theyre doing. I loved this job as an associate because there wasn't really much expected of you, it was easy to master because all you do is ring customers out and clean the sales floor. As a manager, its entirely different. As CEM I was supposed to have specific job duties like ordering candy but my store never once had a freight crew so every day of work was trying to get out as much freight as possible. It was insane, we always had pallets that are weeks old sitting in the backroom. They give you way too may things to do and no time or manpower to do it. Corporate is a joke, no one above store level cares about anything other than making sales and ensuring they get their insanely large bonuses while we're all underpaid and overworked. After three long years of practically running the store, I wasn't even considered to be the store manager when mine quit. They instantly put someone new in without even telling me or the other AM. I spent a lot of my life working there and I still can't believe all the high school level drama I had to deal with involving mostly upper management. (DMS, RMS, AP reps, HR reps). Save yourself from severe mental collapse and apply somewhere else
ProsThere were few experienced employees that i learned a lot from
Conspretty much everything else.

Upper management is shady and always have hidden agendas
Working at five Below is the easiest thing I’ve ever done. Hours are slim and the pay is terrible. The workload is a lot but staying on task will eventually get the job done.
Pros20% discount, half hour unpaid breaks
ConsUpper management was terrible, pay, no hours

Fun Place to Work For
Decent hours, and decent pay for a first job. Management at the time was great and so were the co-workers. As a cashier I was expected to also greet the customers, re-stock the shelves as needed and assist customers with finding items, and soft- / up-selling other items as well.
