Store consultant
Worked at multiple stores. Getting out of work on time is a pipe dream. Stores understaffed all the time. High learning curve and demand from management. Leads to high turn over. Pay doesn't change much once hired so get a much as you can when getting in.
I loved this job. I was Cross-trained to work as a Customer Service Associate to handle a full range of issues in a timely and professional manner. I also provided customer estimates based on competitive bids; developed, managed, and executed diverse projects including innovating and directing the overall aesthetics of design and production of various media for our customers.

Few good managers, high pressure, low pay.
I have worked for this company off and on for over six years. My hiring manager at a tier one center was amazing and the work environment was rewarding. The tier one (larger) centers can be great when everyone is on the same page and working seamlessly. The team can be cut throat with the majority of people wanting to work production and shipping area, often referred to as the hole, is treated like a time-out for those who do something wrong in production. This is a good center to be in for those who like fast-paced environment, learn complex systems and processes quickly, and wish to move up to a higher level position in six-twelve months.
After my awesome manager left the center to become a district manager in another state (yes, it is possible to move up the corporate latter). I moved to a tier 3 (lower level center). These centers can get busy and overwhelming during peak shipping times, but for most of the time they are steady or even occasionally slow. This is a good option for college kids and part-timers, but should actually be run by seasoned employees who know the ins and outs of design, signs and graphics, as well as current operating systems as procedures. Unfortunately, the company only cares about revenue in relation to pay role which limits the centers ability to vastly grow business and move up to become a higher tier center which would overall grow the business. It's a downfall they do not wish to address.

My typical day would be to be at work no later than 8 am. We had very large volumes of work so, when approved, I would get to work around 6:00 am and leave around 6 pm. I did AP for 16 Kinko's stores. From Memphis to Pittsburgh. My multi-tasking skills seemed to always be working in over-drive but I loved it. Some days I would work from 6 am to 6 pm and then take a couple hrs of work home. It was the norm but we went through a period where it was me and one other AP Clerk. The other AP clerk left without a notice so I carried the load for several months. Kinko's has stores nationwide and some international. Each year they would have their (Picnic) managers meet at different location each year. I worked at their corporate office in Knoxville. Of course all managers of stores and their district managers would go. I had no idea that one co-worker from the corporate office was voted for by our managers and the owner of my corporate office announced that I had been chosen to go because I had gone above and beyond to get Vendors paid, paper work organized and never complained. I was so surprised but then the real shocker. That years trip was to Hawaii. All expenses paid for me and 1/2 price for my husband. My Mother always told me that hard work would pay off in the long run. Boy was she right. I never complained because Kinko's stressed being a team player and doing whatever is needed to acquire the right outcome. I would not let them down.

ConsKinko's ecided to move small corporate offices to Boulder, CO., I was asked to stay while the transfer was complete, but my Mother was very ill..They understood and I got great severance pkg.

Friendly, productive, efficient.
A typical day would consist of taking care of my customers needs, either consultanting with them face-to-face, on the telephone or via email. Sharing with them betters ways to enhance their product in a beneficial way. Having their orders done correctly and on time. Also helped in marketing our product and services.
Over the years I been trained on many systems relating to my job functions and also in areas that I may not involve my area of expertise. But I do enjoy learning new things and am a fast learner.
Most of my team members shared the same views as I did. We cared about our customers and each other, we worked well together.
The hardest part of the job was when a customer was not pleased with our services, due to short turn around times, equipment failers
or when they receive their order an is not what they expected. We would do everthing in our power to make them happy.
The enjoyable part of my job is when a customer leaves happy and a smile on their face.
I WORKED WITH FINANCIAL SYSTEMS TEAM AND OUR LEADER WAS TOP NOTCH. SHE KEPT US GOAL ORIENTED AND ENSURED WE GAVE 110% TO OUR CUSTOMERS. I LEARNED A LOT DURING MY TENURE THERE. ONE OF THE BEST PLACES I'VE WORKED TO DATE.
Great environment. Both Downtown Minneapolis and Minnetonka stores. Initially the job was very stressful as the learning curve what each clients requirements were.
As time went on I become comfortable and confident in my ability to the point my boss decided to allow me to make Assistant manager at the Dinky Town Store.
The opportunities provided and the lessons I had learned to this day have provided me with great insight. If you have a chance give them a try. You wont regret it.

Fun workplace
Open the store set up and stock all necessary areas. constant training on updates and new products. Co workers were fun to be around. Hardest part was wearing the many hats in one day but became very manageable. I enjoyed learning the many things with this company also the opportunity to relocate when i moved.
Wonderful supplemental income, flexibility of schedule
I began my job at FedEx Office as a way to provide myself with supplemental income. It turned into an opportunity to advance my skills in local computer hardware maintenance and troubleshooting as I'd engage with customers using the self service workstations/copiers/printers/fax/photostations.
This is a fast past company. I was always multi tasking with my hands on many projects an would never go home without it being completed. My managers an co-workers was a great asset to me an we was a family.

the way that they let us go was un canadian .
at the end the employees were treated like dirt and second class citizens. we could have been given more time so that we could have prepared better. working with my first female mgr was the bomb at fedex office.

Very poor training and the the manager says it’s your fault. Manager and district manager just want things to look good on paper. No teamwork. You can get by doing absolutely nothing because you won’t make errors. The others have to carry the load and thus make errors. Manager hired an assistant manager who was a Human Resources and customer service nightmare. But on paper they had position filled. I went in investing in fedex office as a career. They had no investment in me. I’m a great employee and they lost me. Serves them right

Terrible ! The managers are egotistical . Constantly reprimanding those who are not the " favorites ". Being a driver there is extremely stressful and management could care less about you and do anything and everything to get you to quit. They have a very high turn around in employee's . DO NOT WORK IN LOS ANGELES AS A DRIVER ! Advice look for another job !

Eliminate micromanaging and favoritism, impose more stringent standards on management to be unbiased and respectful with their employees, encourage more of a sense of teamwork, and transfer those employees and employers that put socializing with coworkers ahead of their work.
