Duties

The control systems engineer is responsible for the design, development and maintenance of control systems to support a wide range in industrial automation applications including: automation, robotics, electronics, mechanical and more. The person in this position will be responsible for developing new controls that are designed to meet customer needs by providing engineering expertise on all aspects of electronic system integration with other industry standards (eg., IEC, ISO/IEC).

Detailed job duties include:

  • Design, develop and maintain control systems for the production of industrial automation products.
  • Develop controls system designs to meet customer needs.
  • Identify new technologies that will improve efficiency and reduce cost.
  • Provide technical support on all aspects related to controls engineering projects, including testing, development, installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, etc.
  • Perform engineering analysis in support or assistance with project management activities.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a control systems engineer position within an engineering firm and/or manufacturing environment is required
  • Experience with standard industry software programs
  • Experience with electronic components, such as circuit boards
