No Career Path
There is no Career path for Officers of Administration. They only focus on the Money and Faculty, Staff needs are not met. No Staff Development, Training or Goals.

Great work space
Pushes employees to move forward and not be complacent and also very informative. Team work is very strong... everyone comes together with all projects given and assist each other.

Lead
Peek times were Fall and Spring right before classes and the end for graduation. Admissions and colloquiums set ups were fun, different. Supervised student workers, part time employees, great team. Accounts payable, purchasing department liaison, balancing budgets both program and course budgets.
I think the hardest part was managing all faculty with schedules and meetings to accommodate each request, they usually weren't eye to eye.

I love working here, its fast paced and on point. All the doctors are great to be around and work for.
Unfortunately I'm moving and I have to look for another job.

Columbia is a great university
I pursued my Ph.D degree at Columbia university. I learned how to be a qualified researcher from professors and other students. I taught labs and recitation classes. The pay for teaching assistant work is low (compared to NYU say).

I found the atmosphere at Columbia to be professional as well as educational.
A typical day at work started with turning on the phone lines and assisting customers all day with their inquiries. I learned to manage my time well by shutting down the phones when I had designated time to do research, return calls and emails. When certain cases were not wthin my area of responsibility, I found management to be instrumental in recomending resolutions. I was one of four representatives in my team and we all worked well with assisting one another. The hardest part of the job was reponding to a caller when their case had been escalated but was still unresolved. The most enjoyable part of my job was knowing I had made my customers happy when they found my assistance helpful.
Prosi liked working independantly and also as a team member.
Consmy inability to follow up with the case once it was assigned to another area.
