Great place to work and encourages growth not only yourself but within the company
Assignments were challenging and yet fulling, and always engaging. Allows prior knowledge, training and experience, to help guide not only the group assigned but also others as well, depending upon the circumstances surrounding the assignment(s).

unstable environment
Challenging work environment. Poor management. job security issues. Not a stable environment. there is a major shuffle happening in the company they have a poor bench policy. The managers need to be more engaged with there team and communicate on future work and development

Poor Management
My experience working at Cognizant was good up to the point where after my six month temp contract ended I was not hired on full-time, despite being told despite receiving emails from my manager two months before, stating that I would be. It came as a complete shock to me, one which I was not prepared for, and it put me in a difficult spot financially.
Moral of the story:
If someone tells you that you are going to be hired on full-time, immediately find out what steps need to be taken for that to happen, and make sure to get something in writing (a formal email, etc...), so two months down the road when your temp contract runs out and they try to get rid of you without providing you with a reason, you will be able to fight it legally.

Great flexibility but a huge company.
I really enjoy the flexibility I have with my position but working for such a large company isn't the best for me. I really enjoy my small team that I work with but the executive leadership is not the best.

Good company to work for, Typical day 8 hours. Productive environment, workplace diversity, lots of learning opportunities, supportive personnel, commitment to excellency.

could not understand manager {heavy accent}
Manager was inapt and tried to micro manage everyone because he had a lack knowledge and leadership qualities. He made sure those he did not like were given menial tasks and belittled in front of others.

Not a creative place to work at. They have no clue what empathy means!
Typical day as an entry level: 150 calls a days with rude and ungrateful people. Don't you even dare have a small frown on your face while working as it is a sign you are not enjoying your work.

This was not my best experience as a career or a job. One was always wondering if you were to be layed off or outplaced with a off shore associates would take over your job.

Great Company
Great company. Great benefits. Allows you to learn and apply. Great team work and Good travel policies. I worked from home and traveled to client sites. Company supports a lot in all features.

The pay depends on who you are not your skill set. A person with less experience than you can make 10,000 more. The management is unprofessional. The job was highly stressful.

Good Place to work. Job Security is there for upto Manager level candidates. Time in Office is mandate even for higher level management which is an impediment.

Corrosive environment
Tenuered employees will try to out you from company they never help newcomers to stay there. That is the reason people staying there 10 ,15,20 years with same position or little bit more position because employee dependency no new comers allowed to expose entire process so learning rate is so low due to dependency result is attrition and lay offs no job security, internal politics, no work , no projects, incorrect work assignment example is they hire all types of people like 10th, 12th pass ,graduates, engineers and experts and they give work of data entry to a well qualified engineer and a person who has little process experience he is leading process and those capable are remain non-performs it is because the trend.
