Duties
The clinical nurse is responsible for providing clinical nursing services to patients in an acute care setting. This includes assisting with patient assessment, diagnosis and treatment of chronic illnesses or injuries as well performing other duties as assigned by management. Clinical nurses provide direct supervision over all aspects of health care delivery, including but not limited to medical records review, documentation, discharge planning, case management and medication management.
Detailed job duties include:
- Provide clinical nursing care to patients.
- Develop and implement treatment plans for patients with complex medical conditions, including but not limited to: acute illness, chronic disease or other health problems that require intervention/rehabilitation of the patient population.
- Develop and implement appropriate interventions as needed (eg, medication management).
- Provide direct patient care through consultation with physicians, nurses, pharmacists and social workers.
- Analyze data from various sources such as AsbestoS, EMR, PALS, etc.
- Perform physical examinations.
Qualification
- Licensed as an Advanced Practice Nurse in the State of California
- Current licensure and certification by the American Board for Registered Nursing or National Registry Certified Clinical Nurse Practitioner
- Minimum 2 years clinical nursing experience, including 3 years with acute care practice preferred
