Enjoyable workplace with large barriers to entry
My time at the CTA has been beneficial and stimulating, but also challenging. Work life balance, coworkers, managers, and inititatives are all great, but advancement from an internship position is difficult. I'd like to work full time in a coordinator position there, but I haven't had a single interview out of 9 submitted applications. The application process is discouraging.

Productive place to work
Typical work day- Reviewing and approving requisitions and releasing products or services from blanket agreements. Starting new requisitions for future procurement's. Reviewing data to review with using departments for renewal of agreements. Learned how to multitask for the betterment of the using groups. Management is very supportive and being that I am self motivated individual it works well. The hardest part of the job can sometimes be repetition. the most enjoyable part of my job is helping other departments and the company.

Good place to work for security
The agency is a good place for job security. The environment is not ideal if you want to stretch and grow. Comp is low but balanced with the work rigor. Easy work. I encourage a CTA career if you just want to coast and be in public service.
ProsEasy work, low pressure, stable work
ConsLack luster management, not ideal for growth, very political

Socializing with Co-Workers
Socializing with my fellow Co-workers tends to help to day go by a lot smoother. We share ways in how to better deal with the public that not only benefits the customers and passengers but also to benefit ourselves. Management has taught us that our well being is not whats important but the satisfaction of the company and passengers are.

Outstanding Individuals to work with.
This job has taught me to change the way I look at life. This job has absolutely convinced me that things are not what they appear to be. My co workers are an awesome source of support for my spirit. The hardest part of this job is the very early 3 AM reporting time. The most enjoyable part of this job is serving the public and being able to make another individual smile.
ProsFree Transportation on trains and buses

Management needs to be replaced
I worked as a temp for 3 months and what I learned in the Customer Service dept was that management has a strong click and if you don’t agree with them well they will find a way to get rid of you..Also can’t say anything at all regarding their practices ... really stressful environment and they are bullies.
ProsGreat pay
ConsLots of issues and even the union rep can’t help you also you better suck up or well you are out

Productive workplace
Great co-workers, high morale and just a great company to work for. The most difficult part of my job may be the inclement weather which becomes a nightmare i.e. snow, rain storms. I enjoy the company of my employees and co-workers and all the drama that comes with it no matter what it is.

Asked Nov 14, 2019
Be more understanding and compassionate with my employess
Answered May 10, 2020
I think I would be more organized when it comes to the maintenance department. Also, management needs to get training on how to be more organized. It would also be essential if management for the bus garages all have a CDL, so that they can help move buses along if it gets jammed.
