Really fun to work at. Productive.
I loved working at Canadian Tire because I learned a lot and I was always working with other employees who got along with people. Everyone was friendly and I loved working on the floor with the customers. The fast pace-working and work ethics of us all was beautiful.

Lots of turnover
Was a good place to start my apprenticeship. They started me off with a basic tool set , taking small amounts off my pay cheque to pay it back so it was magagable. Starting you off breaking down tires, mounting and balancing , oil changes, bulb replacements and basic inspections . The benefits are terrible and getting 2 fillings a yr would max it out.. no eye coverage. Canadian tire works off seniority and the best jobs are given to the techs that have been there the longest they pick and choose what they want to work on and the left overs are given to the newest employee'd . You have to pay to go to your own xmas party . No positive feedback was ever given.

productive and fun place to work
Pros
As a supply chain analyst, you get a lot of support from the training team and other co-workers on your team. A good way to practice negotiation.
Cons
It takes about 6 months to one year to become good at what you are doing. After that, things become a little repetitive. But they require you to be at the job for at least two and a half years. Most people leave because of this.

Enjoyable workplace
It was fun working in the shop at Canadian Tire but, it was for CO-OP in grade twelve so I did not get to fully understand the workplace. I was there for half of each day working away and it was a great experience, I learned alot there that will help with my next job.

Enjoyable
To work in the store you need to be fit, or you need to be a cashier.
They give consistent hours and they are flexible for appointments.

Fast paced at times.
Got hired for 1 position. Took the manager a little while to sell the job to me. Duties and pay structure. I finally accepted the offer and for the first 6 weeks all was well. I then however had my duties and pay structure changed to the same as the job I had just left and the reason I left my previous job. I find there is a lot of truth bending to out right lying from some of the managers.

Office politics, but friendly employees
There is an issue with management and how situations are managed. Office politics plays a huge role, especially on the digital team. Contract jobs are very very common and so it is hard to get a full-time job. Compensation is not great. I was doing multiple jobs in my role and when it came down to reassess my role, I was given no raise as it wasn't in the "budget". They definitely take you for all your worth and move you around as they please.

lacking
You don't actually work for Canadian Tire Corporation. You work for the associate dealer which can leave you looking for new employment and management change every few years. Training is scarce and departments understaffed.

Very Demanding for Very little reward
They expect you to work A LOT under very strict and stressful environment. the owners Kerry and Pam are very mean, and most of the managment is okay at best. there is a lot of bad things about this job that I just don't want to write a full essay about on here. They will screw you over and DO NOT CARE FOR THE WORKERS.

Overall Good Place to Work
Canadian Tire is a good place to work overall. Like most places, you will always have some issues. However, it is a relaxed environment with lots of potential for friendships and good fellow employees. Usually has a lot of students working there. All depends on the specific store/location as well.
