simply the best landscape company
i have an especial feeling for this company since i started my profesional career there and got all the knowledge i have now to master the landscaping industry . i've heard stories of people who worked there before, some good and bad experiences. In my case i found out they key to success is to always keep on trying either knocking on one door or the other. I always got the support i requested from my superiors and managers who motivated me and pushed me to become an Account Manager, and i must say i started my career there as an Irrigation Tech. I am currently looking forward to go back to Brightview since i learned there is no other place like this to start a career.

I didn't look forward in going to work on a daily bases because people don't show up to work. This would get the customers mad because we couldn't provide the service they need or want.

Not a great experience working for Brightview. I was not treated fairly, and when i complained, nothing happened it just dismissed. Definitely not family / employee friendly.

Truthfully the worst job I have ever had.
It was a anxiety inducing nightmare from the first day I walked in to the last day I was there. My 'supervisor' was a woman with a high school preppy girl crises even though she was in her mid 40's. Her 'followers' acted like the flying monkeys from The Wizard of OZ whenever she wanted something. She would also disappear and go home less than a few hours into her shift without telling anyone, and I cant count how many times HER MANAGER would walk around asking if we knew where she was because he had no idea! I had a horrible pregnancy that ended in a really bad miscarriage and needed a D&C quickly because everything was not coming out and I was fired because they refused to give me the two days I needed off for the surgery and a day to recover. They straight up told me if I did not come in right after the surgery I would be fired. How is anyone supposed to work after being put under for a decently evasive operation. Even though my supervisor claimed she had 9 miscarriages and that 'I could trust her' she was the worst when it came to trying to go to the doctor appointments to see if the baby was fine. Even forced me to not go to my first appointment more than three weeks past what I should have because she threatened to fire me. Also they really treat all employees like garbage unless you are a Supervisor and above, or a minion as I like to call them. Anything below that you better kiss up really good if you want to keep your job or MAYBE transfer to a new area, IF they feel

Not a welcoming work environment. Fast paced with little help. Quickly to be hard on you. Do not recommend. long hours with no room for flexibility and expected to fill in for someone on days off.

Cut back on meetings. Way too many meetings. Work is not being done and checked when I am stuck in the office all day. Focus on the employee and not profits so much, make employees feel like people, and not a number for profit, focus on people, then the profits will come naturally when the employee is happy and takes pride in what they do. Really care about the customers. Most of my clients feel like numbers also, just like the employees do. It is a horrible feeling. Alot of red tape and paper work for everything.

What advice would you give the CEO of Brightview about how to improve it?

Pay attention to your individual branches. Do forensic auditing. Procedures and policies are not consistent across the branches. When you have branch managers completely unaware of the time and the steps that it takes the employees to do their job, that equals poor leadership. A publicly shared company shouldn't be okay or even perfectly willing to be non-compliant in SOX auditing. Extremely unethical! Put in awkward positions when asked to gat vendors to pay for expensive sponsorships at a dinner. Conflict of interest with vendors consistently and upper management.

Depends on the local mgmt. If they want to cut labor they might send you home for a week. The same person might also expect an account manager to work 50+ hrs for 40 hrs pay
