fun work environment but no structure
A typical day at work included opening the tills in the morning and making the daily zone chart & break sheet for the emloyeess working that day. When new inventory came in, emails must be sent to the owners to confirm the successful delivery. Making sure that all sales associates are zoned where assigned and making sure that each zone has appropriate coverage. Visually merchandising walls tables that are not aesthetically appealing. Training all news associates how to maintain and operate the dressing rooms how to maintain their zones. Customer service duties included answering phone calls, emails, and chat requests with issues or concerns with their online or in-store purchase or an unpleasant experience they might have had at our stores. Although the work environment is un and easy-going, I could truly say that there is a strong lack of organization, communication and structure within this workplace. The hardest part of the job was dealing with several closing employees not showing up to their shift, so it would take up to three times as long until all go-backs were properly put back and the store folded perfectly. I often worked shifts lasting 8 hours minumum, but if there was more to be done (often the case) I found myself working 12-14 hour (sometimes longer) shifts. The best part about this job was all of my amazing coworkers. It truly made the staff feel like a team since everyone got along well. Workers were friendly and cooperative if you ordered them to fo
ProsGreat discount, nice employees, working MANY overtime hours is encouraged. $$
Consmany no-shows, very busy with high traffic, long hours, disorganization and MAJOR lack of structure.

Fast paced with visual merchandising freedom
A typical day at work includes making sure the store is presentable to the public through folding and meeting visual merchandising standards. Working in retail has strengthened my interpersonal skills towards any age or demographic. The hardest part of the job is keeping the store organized in an efficient manner, as the store is very busy on a daily basis. The most enjoyable part of the job is having visual merchandising freedom.

Low rate payment
I learned so much from Brandy, however, management didn't care for you. They only cared about bringing money and nit about their employees. Over all, i learned so much.

Poor
Work-life balance Plenty of overtime but poor management skills the managers/supervisors in this warehouse have a terrible turn over rate, poor safety, and have poor communication skills with their employees. Culture Very poor and unreasonable Overall Poor management and leadership skills the people that are running this company dont care about anything that's going on they just want you to work and put in hours no matter if your even doing anything or not

Management is run by teenagers
The management can be difficult to deal with as they are all 20-24 years old. Workplace was a little too casual and it was hard to get the sales associates to complete their tasks.

Toxic work environment
unfair wages for the amount of work to be done, broken labor laws, favoritism of certain employees, overall an environment where you’re always belittled.

Independent workplace
The work environment was very flexible. But at the same time the management expected a lot from its staff and didnt really provide adequate staffing support. However the atmosphere was upbeat, the staff were really friendly and everybody got along really well. There were a lot of possibilities for you to take on more responsibility if you wanted it, but sometimes management took advantage of this resulting in a few doing a majority of the work and the rest just working a few hours during the week.
Prosindependence
Consnot enough pay and too much overtime

Buena
Más que nada el equipo está hecho de gente joven y con falta de experiencia y liderazgo (bueno no todos) pero a pesar de eso se está bien y son muy flexibles, es perfecto como trabajo de verano.

The other in store models (what they call it) are generally really nice and welcoming when you start... the higher ups tend to be impatient and kind of passive... I left real fast.
Answered May 1, 2021
Fast paced and typically friendly. It’s refreshing to have good customer service here due to the fact that a lot of younger girls work here.

If you were in charge, what would you do to make Brandy Melville a better place to work?
Asked Jan 3, 2020
Make everyone actually work and emphasize good customer service. Hopefully things are different now but when I worked there people were hired based on looks and management seemed to want you to act rude and aloof. Eventually some of the hardest workers got laid off with no explanation and everyone was scared they would be next since people were fired for no reason lol
Answered Oct 24, 2020
Train people to treat customers better and sell product, create more structure, hire based on work ethic not style or looks
