What A Company!
I have been Working for brakes Now for Just under 10 Weeks and I can honestly say I have never felt so invested in than I have since I have stated with Brakes the induction programme is fantastic, you are given the tools to do the job in relation to equipment but also knowledge I cant wait to start giving back to a company that has already given me so much

Management nightmare
The majority of managers have no idea on people skills. If your a man be prepared to be bullied by a female boss. The salary is little more than minimum wage on the basis that they are employing local labour and there's no where else to go. If you have an illness do not work for them as they have no idea how to manage specific illnesses, they also break the disabilities at work act as they are ignorant of specifics and even choose to ignore their occupational health advisors. It has potential but needs a few more male managers and less power mad woman.

It’s okay that’s as far as I’ll go
It’s a decent job but manual handling a whole lorry load is just complete nonsense something needs to be done, other than that the job itself is okay and the people there are great.

interesting and challenging
ensuring all products are picked correctly at a standard for customers, protective clothing is worn in the right departments, replenishing the shelves for other colleagues to pick and pack,i personally get on well with all my co workers and the management. I have learned a great deal while im working here including being trained on different machinery passing my test on the reach truck, being trained to work in minus conditions helping other colleagues when they are in need having to deal in paperwork. The hardest part of my job is meeting the needs and demands of customers but succeeding.

Staff were lovely. You got to know new faces each month as there was a high turnaround. Management are lovely but the job itself is stressfukl
The staff/colleagues were lovely. However, you got to know new faces each month as there was a high turnaround. Management are lovely but the job itself is stressful and you are not made to feel appreciated. ASMs/RSMs and clients treat you like you are small and meaningless.

Fast paced and varied days
My day consists of ensuring all customers receive a high quality of service from the company, from highly rained and motivated staff.I have to work closely with all area's of the business to ensure the best service to our customers. I work with a team of managers & staff who all pull together in a crisis , they support each other well and in the main work as well as a team. The hardest part of the job is keeping every one happy as i have to satisfy the Senior Management team, my own team & the customers, whist still hitting targets & deadlines. The most enjoyable is being part of a team that can achieve superb service and teamwork when up against some challenging situations.
ProsGreat benefits package such as staff discount
Conscan be put under extreme pressure to achieve KPI's

Terrible
Bad management, over worked and underpaid. If you express a problem or concern then you are either ignored or if you make enough noise you get a manager trying to belittle you over an unrealistic drop schedule. Toxic workplace. In my opinion. Drawn from my experiances.
