Server at Boston Pizza
My experience working at Boston Pizza was great! All my managers were pleasant to deal with and very accommodating. My coworkers were awesome which made going to work enjoyable. I would recommend this job to anyone who enjoys working in a face paced work environment. The daily aspects of work were manageable and easy to accomplish.

Learned a lot from working for this company.
If your looking for advancement forget about it. You learn the do's and don'ts. As long as your a good foot soldier and listen to whatever they tell you to do. Nothing really changes except your hours. You could work 35 hours or 8.

Disappointed in Canadian Leadership
Very disappointed in leadership in Canada. Lack of culture and appreciation of differences. Very unfortunate as it was a place that had potential to grow in the US.
ProsGreat office leadership until 2018
ConsNot Open to diversity

The business has closed since I have worked there many years ago. Had many reposibilities there and was an enjoyable place to work for. It was a good place for a first or second job.

A typical day was greeting, seating, customer service, and cleaning. I learned how to have conversations with guests and clean properly. Management was decent, everyone was treated equally. The hardest part of the job was how fast paced the restaurant industry can really be.The most enjoyable part of the job was greeting customers with a smile and "How are you doing today?"

Fast paced and multitasking is a must
Working for Boston’s was fun , it was challenging at times , it did lack some good servers. Which made it hard to consistently give out good service since some servers served better than others. The scheduling was too up and down , sometimes you got a full 40 hours , other times you were barely making enough money to live off of .
ProsFree meals
ConsNo breaks, not enough staff

Lack of structure and direction
I would rather not say much about the company other than they lack structure and direction from the top down. The owners of the company have a great vision and goals in mind. The concerns come when the owners are not in the office, 85% of the year. The individual who has been put at the helm of the ship, does not have the same vision and goals as the owners, thus the disconnect and lack of direction. Very little inter and cross departmental conversation.
Prosmeal plan, employee parties, compensation
Conscommunication, direction and management

fast-paced. friendly and positive
All staff is friendly and positive to work with. Management is fair. The most difficult part of the job was keeping up with fast-paced dinner and lunch rushes. A typical day at work began before the dinner rush (about 4pm), some dishes needed to be cleaned and the surrounding area could be cleaned as well. Then washing dishes until shift was up, take out garbage and clean work space.
