From what I understand the Thermotechnology division is very different from the rest of Bosch. With that being said, my 6-month experience there was awful, from the very beginning.
I was told a work-life balance was very important, key to my decision to accept the position, which I was outright told would not happen for 2 years after I was in the position for 1-month and relocated for it.
They moved their corporate headquarters twice to suit the business-unit executives preferred living location, forcing many from across the country to move or find a new job. There was no real purpose for this, as there is nothing manufactured in or near their new, leased headquarters. They have completely unrealistic compensation, based on the high cost of living area in which they are now headquartered.
I had the worst supervisor I've ever professionally had, constantly micromanaging me and giving my horrible advice, even when I was the most experienced person on the team. He should not be allowed to have subordinates, as his social skills are seriously lacking. There are more acronyms and bureaucracy than found in the US Military.
Development plans were foolishly behind the times or entailed ludicrous expectations, and were poorly conceptualized. It really seems as if it is only a cost center to balance out profits made by other Bosch divisions.
My entire time there I never actually say anything manufactured by Bosch TT. Meetings are almost exclusively held with Skype with peop
Extremely fast-paced engineering environment with management in the clouds
If you're a hard-working engineer, stop looking at this company right now. I'm only going to say that there are very good reasons why 50% of all salary employees turn over in 3 years. Here, hard work is generously rewarded with more hard work, and there are very few people like that who work here... many people are on Yahoo, Youtube, and their phones for 4-6 of their "8 hours". For the hard workers, check the parking lot before 6:30AM and after 6:30PM and on weekends (probably the same cars are there). The workload is extremely stressful and consists of more "band-aiding" things than creating good engineering designs.
If you're a less-hard-working engineer, this might be the company for you. You won't get fired for not doing your job. Environment is tense, but laid-back in the sense that you get to wear jeans and listen to music on your earbuds. Engineering work is honestly way under 10% of your actual work (not being sarcastic). The experience you get is mind-numbing and embarrassing to add to a resume.
The ceiling is pretty low. You have engineer 1, 2, and 3, then engineering group leader, then engineering manager, then plant manager. Most engineers take 5+ years to advance up any given level. Don't ask a manager or HR what the difference between engineer 1, 2 and 3 is, because literally no one knows.
Benefits are ok. You get only one health insurance option that annually increases in cost but decreases in coverage. 401k match is 100% up to 4%.

We are now just a distribution center, manufacturing was moved from this site about 3 years ago. At this point in time I am a re-stocker operating a swing reach piece of equipment to put away and to replenish active pick locations. Pick, pack ship is what we do now. I have learned in the inspection environment how to read parts drawings and determine what measuring tools to use to take measurements. This includes CMM and optical comparator equipment. Record keeping tracking supplier history, working with engineers on inspection of new or changed parts record exact readings to determine if parts are ok to use in production. In the warehouse environment learned to home product to proper active location according to product line, size and fit to active location zones. Learned inventory process doing a wall to wall inventory activity each year. The hardest part of the job at this time would be the weight of some of the product often stacked high and difficult to bring down from overhead. I have learned to operate the swing reach, tow motor and a wave all pieces require training and recertification as required. I enjoy most of my co-workers many of us have worked together many years. I work ok with the management team. The reason for my job search is my location is moving to another state and moving to that state was not an option. I will be without work sometime in April in May at which time I am available for new opportunities for both myself and a new employer. The company

Bosch is a VERY large company (approximately 300,000 employees globally with offices in the US, India, South America, Europe, China, etc...), and that corporatism rears it's ugly face on a daily basis. Lots of meetings, mandatory "leadership/teamwork" training sessions, continuous improvement programs and the likes will have you leaving work feeling like your life is analogous to the movie "Office Space" (good movie, watch it if you haven't already!). Furthermore, the work-life balance is not fantastic... for example, there are "core work hours", during which you must be in the office (location-dependent). Depending on the department, location and position you fall into, you may find that your work (on the tech. side, at least) is remedial at best... it seems that Bosch likes to keep much of the fun work, such as development and research, in Germany, and hand off the less interesting stuff (calibration work as an example) to the US.
All in all, Bosch can offer job security, but with that comes a hindrance for advancement, mediocre compensation, and an almost laughable, stereotypical corporate feel. Definitely a good (but not great) jumping off point for individuals fresh out of school, but perhaps not such a great option down the line.
A side note; I have quite a few colleagues who really enjoy working for Bosch... it all very much depends on your mindset. A cautionary tale; HR is quite persuasive when it comes to recruiting and you may find yourself wooed by all o

Expect to work like a robot and be like an octopus working and doing several job roles and not just what you applied for
Usually your manager or the senior level manager is from abroad and not from the United States, they tend to be very rude and disrespectful, treating employees the same ways they are used to treating employees in other countries that do not have labor laws, always cutting corners, expect tasks completed in unreasonable time. I shared an office with two expats from aboard, they were very offensive, always complained about Americans, harassing, constantly complained cause we did things differently then other countries, said we were stupid dumb lazy people, always treated people in an undignified way. If You apply and are hired for one position / role you’ll end up getting assigned other roles that have nothing to do with your profession or position you originally applied for, just to justify your pay raise then your daily tasks consist of things outside your primary role or title originally applied for expecting you to do all roles within a work day, expect you to work like an octopus doing multiple things and robot all day with no breaks just your lunch break. I fell ill which caused me to be hospitalized and upon returning to work was a nice writeup waiting for me to sign for calling in sick and not completing my task while I was hospitalized, that’s the type of company it is, they write you up if you fall ill and get hospitalized like I said treat you like an employee working in a country that has no labor laws my recommendation is to stay away if not don’t plan to stay the

ConsShort Breaks, Micro Management, you feel like you job is on the line every day
From the start, the job was average but the pay (17 dollars when you're hired in) was something worthwhile...in 2013. Now you're only making somewhere between 18 and 19 for new hires but the toxic culture of this job is definitely not worth it.
You want to spend time with your family? HAH say goodbye to that because the last time I heard, people are working 2 or more months without a day off minus the holidays (which was only 2 days during those months of working). You get 2 days to do 12 hour shifts and God forbids you can't do it because you will be pointed for that as well. You only get 6 points and each point takes a whole year to drop off.
Management is a complete joke! No communication between the office and the shop floor. Good luck finding out if you have the holiday weekend off because you won't find out until the day before the holiday but have the nerve to ask that you give a 24 hours notice for vacation or using your sick hours. They are so clueless as to how bad they're burning out their employees that they are currently going thru a huge staff shortage and have the nerve to blame it on the shop floor people for not setting a good morale. You can't expect to keep people when other jobs with less overtime demand are paying just the same as they do.
The only positive thing I can think of is the fact that temps are making just as much as new hires and the health insurance.
Pros- 401k, health, dental, and etc. Temps start out at 18 an hour.
ConsMandated overtime, poor work/life balance Toxic work culture Stagnant wages
I love working for a company that pushes associates to do more than they think they can. I am surrounded by intelligent, skilled, and hard working people and recognize that Bosch employees have been trained to be the best in the industry. The other fun part is the international network and getting the opportunity to travel and work in other countries. We have very diverse teams and this makes work fun and interesting.
The only negative is the Automotive Industry in general. Bosch is as stable of a manufacturing company as they come but still experiences the ups and downs of the world economy. After 20 years, I've learned to not panic at every crisis, but look at it as a time to remove waste and to do what needs to be done to remain competitive. It's no fun, but its an inevitable cycle.
Lastly, Bosch's core values is why so many people remain loyal for so much of their careers. Bosch is willing to make the hard business decisions to do what is right for the world (ie. CO2 neutrality) and this makes you proud that it isn't always just about the bottom line. I personally love how Bosch has reached our local community in multiple different dimensions: through organized volunteering, skilled labor training, donations to different causes, recycling in the communities, and on and on.
Overall, I definitely recommend Bosch for those that want to surround themselves with talented people and are willing to push themselves to continuously grow.
supervisors basically babysitters, always trying to catch someone breaking one of 100 rules they have we have so many company can't even remember them
This used to be a great place to work , years ago. since Bosch took over there is NO respect for their associates at the bottom who keep them working a their jobs.No us, no job for upper mgmt... Now the white collar workers are finding out how disgraceful we are treated because they are getting treated the same way now. Only due to the fact they are moving to South Carolina for cheap labor and temp workers who will accept their abuse. Minus the CEO who has a 1/2 million dollar house to sell here to move there. This job is so dysfunctional and so very hostile I find it hard to believe we can get anything out the door to ship. But we work hard and it get done only by the people on the floor not due to management. we are a union facility, thank goodness, we would be making $10.00 an hour if it were their way. As we are told regularly. A lot of us cannot wait for this place to sink, but we won't leave , we will go down with the sinking ship. Lastly, the only company who will lie to your face and lie about lying. have at it Bosch , we won't miss you, we will miss our paycheck ONLY. You had a great work force, you and your management is the cause of your demise..I could go on and on, but won't waste anymore of my time. if you don't get it by now you won't. we believe KARMA"S a kicker.

.... Pán má smůlu, já si ve firmě bosch ty sliby ověřoval a ti mi to potvrdili... Takže mít agenturu jako štít aby se nepoškodilo jméno firmy je hezké..
