Assistant General Manager |

Great company..some problems.
Overall I really enjoyed my role there as AGM and Assistant Catering Manager. With the way corporate has structured numbers and kept prices the same it's majorly affected the kind of service offered. The regular guests over to me have expected high level of service but with keeping in the structure corporate has created it's next to impossible to offer the same kind of service. Many times as a series manager I was expected to cover WAY too much gap with sending people home early (expected), over seeing catering orders solo (expected) and performing managerial duties. The pay did not reflect to level of precision I put into my performance, which in turn, is why I left the company.
ProsGreat product, distinguishable roots, kind souls.
ConsPay, vacation (none), and insane expectations.

If you show up you have a job
Just show up. As long as you show up to work Everyone is in the same boat and as long as you have a good managing staff things run smoothly. Clientele is mainly the elderly.

The Farm.
At my store there is a lack of team effort and there is also a good amount of favoritism. FOH, grill line and BOH are their on clique Some managers care, some don’t and some are just trying to survive. Any problems amounts coworkers are expected to work themselves out. They will hire new people in at the same rate as their seasoned employees. Getting a raise is hard to do. They will cross train you, expect you to use that training when ever they are short staffed
ProsDiscount food, pick your hours.
ConsPay, hours, the work itself

Diversity
As a former employee of Bob Evans Restaurant Inc. I enjoyed my job there was so much diversity and everyone for the most part got along and we always worked so easily with each other. I loved working in a diverse environment.

The food is good
This job is like any other job, it is what you make it. Hard work, dedication, efficiency. All words which describe my essence of success in being a server, hospitality specialist. Team work truly does make the dream work!

busy restaurant that challenges any manager every day
The hardest part of this job is dealing with the lack of entusiasm with the younger generation. I found that most of the people that were hourly were using Bob Evans as a "stepping stone" to their next position or as a second job.

Change in owners
Company has changed hands too many times. Too many cuts, too many changes, it isn't the company it used to be anymore. Not employee oriented any longer.

Great place to learn from your elder staff members , wonderful environment just wish management could keep stock up , management hopefully improves .
Great place just the managers there need some assistance , they were becoming unfair to other workers and guests were waiting an hour for food everyday .
