No support, almost felt bullied
No upper management supports you until you complain. After you complain, you have a target on your back. No one is friendly and they're all very judgmental.

Retail sucks in general, but this is awful
Belk offers long hours on your feet with little breaks. Corporate has fired or demoted workers who had been there 20+ years without warning, as well as moved workers to other areas. There is a lot of favoritism and gossip amongst the managers. Would not recommend.

busy
not a bad company to work for. Competitive salary and pleasant working environment. The company could use a bit more training in their online services for employees.

Great people to work with.
I highly recommend Belk for employment. I learned the retail business. The culture is multi. The hardest part of the job is coupons never work and the customers are always livid.

Sinking Ship
This company rewards employees who do absolutely nothing and employees that work hard daily get nothing. If management decides they don't like you they will do everything imaginable to get you to leave or cook up instance to get you fired.

Proceed With Caution
You will be worked like a dog - they go through a restructure at least every 6-12 months and figure out anyway possible they can cut corners to save on salary or do more with less employees. They already pay way under the industry standard for these job titles and bonus is a complete joke. HR seems like they intend well but utimately they're working for the man so overall I'd say you are just a sitting duck at Belk Corp.. unless you can really WOW them!
P.S.
They will death stare all day and huff n puff if you do something to mess up their $$ as in a skirt is delivering late or missed the boat or you made a pricing error and losing money on product. the shame is real here folks! at the end of the day though..its just clothes
Prosemployee discount, decent amount of vacation, you will have a lot of responsibility, lots of upper management exposure, fairly easy to move within company
Consoverworked, underpaid, Flex schedules not really allowed, you have too much responsibility

If you are willing to work, you are rewarded!
There are many opportunities for bonuses or employee spiffs for extra money each month. You just have to be open and willing to do what it takes to go get it!

super competative
Lots of goals. Good rewards. Pay for performance policy is for the most part unattainable. Good perks for cosmetics. Lower management is horrible. Very childish and gossip filled
