Overall Reviews at Bass Pro Shops

It depends on the department.
I love this company as a whole. They do a lot of charity, and conservation work. I was employed at the corporate office and worked in two different departments. The first department was like a family and the second was like a prison. The good thing is that they do allow transfers when there's an opening but you have to be careful not to bounce around too much, after awhile HR won't approve.

Good place to work
Good place to work except that hourly wage is poor which constitutes with low employee moral. Thus, personnel are not working to their optimal capabililties.

The difference in leads and employees to managers and gm
The only reason I stayed with this company for so long is because of the people. Everything else was absolutely terrible. The leads and employees were great and was a very wonderful work environmental friendly. As for the managers and GM of the store I was at was terrible. They could care less about the people they had working for them and cared only about themselves.
ProsGreat friendly co-workers
ConsBad management and GM

Being a customer service rep
At my current job, I have many responsibilities. More so than I had with previous jobs. I do a lot of computer work, processing online orders and using different systems. Issuing licenses and staying up to date with florida regulations. In my position it's important to stay knowledgeble in order to give customers the best experience possible.

Not a place I would recommend to work
If you weren't part of the "in group", there was no chance of advancement even if you had proven yourself to be a "team Player". Reminded me of the cliques from high school so not a very inviting place to work.

Good company to work for
The staff was great to work with but the work and home life balance wasn't there. what the owner stands for in the community and with family is great.
