We are a growing, innovative healthcare company that is looking for an energetic and motivated back office medical assistant to join our team. Our back office medical assistants work in the field of healthcare with a focus on providing high quality patient care and excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working part time or full . This position requires some travel within the state where you live. Duties

The back office medical assistant is responsible for the administration of medical records and patient care. This position will be based in our office located at the back end of the hospital. Duties will include providing excellent customer service to patients by answering phones, responding quickly to requests from physicians and arranging appointments. May also assist doctors as needed. Must have experience working in a healthcare environment (eg: nursing home).

Detailed job duties include:

  • Provides patient care and support to the medical staff.
  • Assures that all patients are being treated in a timely manner, including but not limited to: checking their blood pressure, taking vital signs, answering phones, etc.
  • Recording information on medications taken from physicians or other health care providers as needed.
  • Maintains records of appointments made at the time of appointment (ie., billing, discharge planning).
  • Performs routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning up after treatment rooms, restrooms, toilets.

Qualification

  • Must be able to work in an office environment
  • Must have the ability and willingness to learn new skills, as well as develop professional relationships with others
  • Ability of working independently or collaboratively
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Excellent customer service skills
