Fun atmosphere where opportunity and growth are encouraged
Supporting users from U.S ,Canada and the U.K. with SharePoint 2010. Including but not limited to team site design, custom workflow/web parts in SharePoint Designer 2010, publisher support and training as well as InfoPath 2007/2010 development and training. Be creative is an important part of the position here at Aviva because it is a hosted environment with Microsoft. Management is pretty easy going and flexible so working from home is an option and something I prefer.
Prosworking from home, working with multiple people in different regions
Consmicro management

a great place to work with engagement, community service and willingness to support your education
Involved daily with personnel around the country discussing sales concepts and practices. Most difficult part of job is working with difficult customers immediately attacking organization and diffusing the situation. Reaching a mutual understanding, teaching without pointing out fault and increasing sales is most enjoyable part of the job. Co-workers make the team tremendous and are a true asset.
Prosparking, flexibility, bonus structure
Consroom for advancement

Aviva USA Life and Annuity
This is a great company to work for. They were very concerned about their employees work, life balance. Every day you learned something new. This industry changes all the time. My work day was always fast past. Full of challenges. The hardest part of the job was not having the authority to make or approve small changes . The work pace was so fast, finding a lead or manager presented its challenges. The days were exhausting, but the pay and benefits were great and the company always showed appreciation for the hard work and long hours the employees put in.
ProsLots of employee recognition, company events
ConsNot enough lower management

Busy, intersting, fulfilling, particularily with great collegues!!
AVIVA as a company had an authentic friendly culture, where "work -l life" balance was encouraged.
Once trained up on my speciality, Reinsurance, it was easy to commence my working days with my own prioritised list of work, rather than having to wait for direction. Management was always kept informed of my progress, to ensure all were kept in the loop.
I was fortunate enough to have my Team Leader approx 3 months after I commenced, employ my future "long time" collegue, who was a delight to work with, along with other internal staff members and external parties.
This particular position enforced my Leadership skills (from being a Team Leader of 2 previous teams), as I had to take ownership of all issues identified, follow through with rectifying it, and make note if it wasn't being completed from another department.
Frequent adhoc updates to Management, especially regarding monies receivable was expected most weeks, so particular attention was made with the progress of following up on this.
ProsSpecialisted part of the business, made for more interesting days, rather than a position that was purely repition.
ConsMost Reinsurance positions located at their head office in Sydney, there are only 3 companies in Melbourne I believe, have small "in house" reinsurance teams".

Supportive employer and good place to work
Aviva was a really great place to work. There was a good balance of having fun and getting on with your work. The benefits were great, such as buying holiday and flexible working hours. I felt very well supported by my Manager and had a good relationship with my team mates.

Excellent employer in every way
Plenty of opportunity to move around the company to learn about all aspects of the business. Supportive of learning and development. Variety of management styles in the various business areas and geographic locations. Real opportunity to own career and forge a career path. Most areas very understanding and supportive of work life balance. Such a large company offers great variety of co-workers, locations and cultures.
Most enjoyable part of the job is the achievement of tough challenges. Hardest part of the job is stakeholder management, simply due to the size and complexity of the business.
ProsReally supportive employer, for development, flexible working and variety of working experience available
ConsAs soon as you know who the stakeholders are there is yet another re-org and more job losses

Far too long ago for me to review fairly...
No longer exists as a division of Aviva so a review is N/A.
Great pension! (compared to other significant Corporations)
Once again, Management issues causing a toxic work culture, a culture and division of Aviva that no longer exists... Speaks volumes really!
