Good place to work, lots of overtime. Little advancement for mid-management.

Review
A complete change over from a 50 person shop to being part of and international company.
Saw customers and cold called while in the field. The hardest part of the job was getting equipment that met the customers requirements.
The most enjoyable was solving customers problems and gaining lead after the sale.

Good place to work
This was a commission only position that took a good six months to get rolling. We sold new and refurbished equipment.
The equipment was sold and we would not get paid until the customer paid

Great place to work
At my time at Atlas Copco I learn a lot of things and worked with many interested people. My Co-workers were kind and helpful in helping me fulfilled my duties to the company.

Very positive team with very motivative supervisor
My day started by checking all export orders left over from the previous day. I checked for any special documents needed for transporting product across border lines and prepare any such documents. Lined up carrier for shipping (ocean or air) and billed order, and printed special documents, placed border documents in envelope & sent to warehouse to be placed on the shipment. I might have as many as 10 or 12 from the evening before. I then collected domestic and more export oders for billing. I billed throughout the day & continued to complete export orders also. I answered front door to business and greeted visitors. Throughtout the day I received emails from different departments and from customers to look up information on certain orders.(look up tracking #s on shipments or other facts concerning shipments). I always billed order until I left for the day.

Busy days, go by fast.
Learned a lot, was able to train every year. Typically day in logistics is always hectic. you may have your day all set up and all it takes is one shipment to mess things up. It seems like you are always reacting, hard to plan ahead.

Fast paced industry that doesn't value employee personal lives. Aggressive sales goals on top of required training make it more difficult for remote employees to manage customers and attend training classes at corporate offices.

Internship
While I was an intern at Atlas Copco I was exposed to a variety of things in the work place. I worked with the data center team alongside the networking team as well. There was somewhat a sense of urgency a lot of the time while I was there and that was probably to sub-par upper management. The office was always clean and people were typically quiet. Atlas Copco does a lot of contracts for their workers. It seems to be somewhat difficult to get on full time apart of their team. Overall I say I enjoyed my time there. We would have group outings from time to time and my team actually cared about one another.

The most enjoyable part of the job
