Significant attrition occurring in key roles
There is a tremendous amount of change occurring in the IT space today. The direction is not clear and the messages from senior leadership are either contradictory or inconsistent. There is an effort to downsize the IT organization so that the company can minimize expenses. The effort seems short-sighted and unsustainable.

Fun place to work with great work/life balance.
This company is a great place to work. I've worked here 2 separate times with accumulated years of service at 22 in various positions. I highly recommend this company.

Execllent place to begin a career in finance
Ameriprise offers excellent on-the-job training, competitive pay and benefits. The work is challenging and fast-paced at times with many technology changes to roll with. You are expected to advance your own career, stand out, and prove your continued worth to management. If you work hard here, you will be rewarded.

Workplace and the culture can be a little more fun and enthusiastic. Learned more new technologies, hardest part of the job mostly is the people whom we are working with - little difficult

Great entry level into financial services industry
Ameriprise is a well established financial planning firm with may opportunities to learn about the industry. It's a good place for getting licensed and learning the basics of the job but the job growth is very limited within franchise practices.

Unsatisfactory
Working in a franchise office, I didn’t feel any connection with corporate. After my employer retired and I was out of a job, there was no concern on the part of my former employer or corporate to help me in securing Ameriprise job leads. I was told often that with my experience, any office would be lucky to have me but no offers came my way. I think Ameriprise Corporate has more on inclusiveness and
support.

Great co-workers, fantastic work environment
Great co-workers, fantastic work environment. Everyone is all hands on deck to assist with any questions and or willing to help out and take care of business if a co-worker is sick. Working for Ameriprise Financial was one of the best experiences in my working career.

Growth in company
The business is growing but my position was dissolved.
Training is limited
Communication is minimal
Tools are always down or being "updated"
Home Office did a good job at returning calls when i did have a complication.

No advancement
You are stuck in the same position until you leave. Pay is good, no benefits and low pay raises. If you like spending most of your time doing nothing this would be the job for you.
